Hi guys, Randhawa, y dont u try talking to the DGS to verify your status. I m still hoping they r going to consider my appln coz its not yet March 15th, the deadline. Dont want to hear any bad news :( I called the Dir. of Grad Studies(DGS) and he agreed to take an unofficial copy of transcripts by fax. Meanwhile, I got an email saying that my MBA appln with UIC is incomplete too. But they havent mentioned whats missing, now I gotta resolve that [bomb]. All the best to the others. Vasu.

Hi, I m planning to attend few open houses of graduate schools. My qn is this, do I have to go in formal wear ? What happens in an open house, is it like a formal affair, where someone addresses the audience or what is it ? I might have asked a very silly qn, but please answer. Hi Sushmitha, I emailed the dept (since they werent answering the phone and there was no way to leave a voice mail) about the forwarding of transcripts and havent heard any response from them. I even copied that email to the Director of Graduate Studies, MIS dept. I m in panic now. Who did u contact/call, if u dont mind can u please tell me whom u contacted ? Hey guys, I just called the OAR at UIC and found out that I have sent the transcripts to the IDS dept instead of the OAR address. I think the dept website as well as the two snail mails I got from OAR instructed me to send to that address, well anyways I found what the problem was. Tried calling the dept up, since I cudnt reach them .. have emailed. Lets c. Good luck with tracking all your "missing" transcripts n scores ! Vasu.

Hi, What I did with my applns is to enter the score in percentage and let the school take care of the conversion to GPA. When I asked other TMians, thats how they advised me to do. Vasu.

I gotta try calling them .. but I never get them to pick up the phone. I've sent another set of transcripts and emailed them about it. Still they have sent me a similar letter asking for transcripts.

Thanx Vinay. In my case they have clearly mentioned in the admit letter that they arent able to give me any aid at this point. Sunxcat, do u know what is the deadline to register for admns coz I m still waiting to hear from UIC. With their transcript confusion, my hopes r down the drain. I sent a second set of transcripts n they have sent me the very same incomplete appln letter again. I m trying to reach the admns office by phone and try to sort it out.

Hi, Even I have got admit to the Masters in IT Mgt program. Sunxcat, what did u apply to ? I guess they just have rolling admissions like most business schools though the website doesnt mention anything about it. Btw, sunxcat did u get financial aid ?

Anyone got admits from UIC MS program inspite of having transcript issues ? I sent another set of transcripts to the school and sent emails asking about the current status. They havent responded yet.

Hi there, Can someone help me out, I just got an admit(email) from UChicago for MS in CS. But they have a contingency, they require me to either get a waiver or pass a test on Discrete Math and C language. I have had these courses in Bachelors degree though. Gotta call them t'row to find out more details. In the meantime I would appreciate if one of u guys can tell me how good the program is, MS in CS at Uchicago ? Hi, I have problems with UIC too, I sent them two sets of transcripts as required and they still have mailed me asking for transcripts. I tried calling them and e-mailing them, no response yet. I live in the US, but did my Bachelors degree in India. I wonder what they actually want. Vasu.

I talked to an alumni of UChicago who was on the Adcomm (student) and according to him, a GMAT more than 700 is very good. Anything above 700 has the same value, its not just the GMAT that decides your admit. Its the whole package, your profile - exp, recos, essays as a whole. I dont think there is any need to retake GMAT having a 730.

Hi there, Anybody applying for a joint degree program like the one in UIC, MS/MBA in MIS ? I went thro the website and the reqts are pretty confusing. How do you actually apply to such a course, you do the application for the MBA or MS or both ? Which score will be considered ? GRE or GMAT ? Please clarify.
