I got a rejection from MIT, but Duke is flying me over on March 18th, for the recruitment session. Does this mean I have a 10% chance of admission. Is Duke tolerable university for Electirical and Computer engineering graduate studies ? Thanks in adavance. Also will I need to decide on the spot whether I signup for admission, since I am waiting for CMU and harvard.

Hi All, i must say I have been tracking this forum for about 5 months now, and its just an amazing place. I have applied to MIT, CMU, UIUC, as well as harvard for master/phd in computer science. Unforturnately I have not heard from any of them. 1. I should appreciate if any of the applicants at this forum will let me know if they heard from these instituions ? 2 . What is the probability of getting fellowship/funding, if one is admitted to these universities. 3. Since I have a miserable quantitative score of only 750, do I have even the faintest chance at the top guns ? Look forward to a response. Thanks in advance. One final word --- YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!

I thank you very much, I am just a little upset with my Quantitative score since all these schools I think require atleast 780, and I have only 750. Furthermore I am an international student, canadian, and thus dont know how badly they will treat an international student in terms of admissions and scholarships. Regards, rbz

I thank all of you for the encouragement. I am dream to have the best education, but not a rich kid. Is it possible to enroll for PhD to these schools and then later come out with just a Masters, if one is not very happy with it. This way can the system be beaten---- that is they give you stipend during your Masters. Also do I have any chance for PhD to these ivory towers ? Do you think its difficult getting a job, after a degree from these schools ?

Ok so I finally gave the exam again. My New score for the Dec 7th CAT GRE is now : Math 750 Verbal 640 Do you think I have a chance now ? Any body who has successfully got into these schools kindly let me know what magical scores you had or your resume had ? Thanks in advance
