  1. Raja, Many ppl talk about gmat sets? what are those? how can I get them? Thank you
  2. Congrats TBAy what are the GMAT sets being referred to here? I did both sets in the powerperp and gmatprep softwares but they were basically questions copied from the OG. Are there other sets that I should look up?
  3. Dear Erin, GPREP #1 (before GMAT prep) 480 Manhattan GMAT # 1 590 Kaplan Diagnostic 550 CAT#1 640 CAT#2 590 CAT#3 650 GPREP # 2 530 (four days before the real test) Real test 540 (41 math 70%, 22 verbal 48%) I was really disappointed how can I get a 650+? please help
  4. Dear All, I took my test last week and I was really disappointed. I was doing well on Kaplan prep materials, I was getting 640 and 650 on Kaplan CAT's. I took the first GPREP at the begining of my prep journy got 480, then I kept the second test to be taken a few days before the real GMAT, thinking that if i get to do well on Kaplan CAT's I could easily get above 650. The shocking news is that I got 530 in the second GPREP practice test. I was heartbroken as I spent the last three months studying really hard. I gathered my strength and courage and went for the test, got a shocking 540 (41 quant 70%, 23 verb 48%) I know that I am stronger in math, hence the 41, but I need to focus on verbal. Here is my next prep plan to retake the test by the end of March. - Finish both OG 10&11 - Go through Manhattan GMAT math books and SC book - Finish Kaplan 800 - complete 1000 SC what do you think, do I have a chance to get a 650? please help
  5. Yes, on the 27th of Jan (the big day) hope things work out cuz i am worried as I didn't strudy throughout this week when are you taking it? or have you taken it already?
  6. Look I am no expert, as I am preparing for it myself, I guess as an average person I am preparing for three months while working full time. I guess if you can study for about 6 hourse a day (if you are not working of course) you can be ok within two months depending on how committed you are. Honestly, i am not sure about kaplan 25$ deal i heard a friend of mine saying that and he said he got the tests for that amount, as I said I signed up for private tuition, which is not taht great, but the online program is very good. I guess what you do is the following: - set a date about three month to the prepartion and book the test, that will motivate you - buy the books that we recommend depending on the areas you think you are weak in, for me I bought all the books oh by the way, Kaplan comes with answer explanations if you need anything else, let me know
  7. Hey Girish, I agree Kaplan workshops are basic and honostly I didn't view them much. I enjoyed the 1000's of questions Kaplan has and the 8 CAT's, so basically if you can get a hold of the practice, go for it if not then do the following: - Manhattan GMAT and their question pool - You can buy like 8 or 9 Kap tests for like 25$ online - if you buy a book from Manhattan GMAT you have access to 6 full tests, those along with Kaplan 8 CAT's and the official GMAT Prep, you should have 16 full tests, I guess in my opinion that's enough but of course the more you practice the better you score. One more thing, I suggest that during your preparation, try to take one test per week, however, about a week or ten days before the test try to take a test at least once every other day if not everyday. Focus on your score and percentile not the number of correct questions answered. best of luck
  8. Hey, Girish, Kaplan 800 does not come with a CD anymore, I bought one lately and no CD was there. I believe that you could get access to there tests if you buy the book, I don't know as I have enrolled in their online course. Look, what you are doing here is just practice as much as you can, analyse your answers and hope for the best. If you finish all the questions you have been exposed to in, Manhattan, Kaplan, OF COURSE OG10 AND OG 11, 1000 SC, I guess after all that you will be definitely be in good shape. The whole point is to practice all possibilities and these insitiutions will presents 1000's of questions in defferent ways, so you'll be much more confident. Best of luck,, let me know how it goes, Shereen
  9. oh by the way, I tried to change my name to remove the negativity (scared) but couldn't, any how, i'll try not to look at my user name in the coming month
  10. oh, thank you so much 12rk34, I was just talking to my friends about positivity and they all agreed that I tend to usually say (I don't want ...to happen to me, instead of say positive things will happen), I need to forget what happened to my friend and use that as a lesson to be learned. Right now, all what I want to think of is the number 700 appearing on the screen after I am done. Your message is so inspiring and thoughtfull, thank you again have you taken GMAT or are you preparing for it as I am?
  11. WOW, Congratulations ST91200 Your score is quite impressive, could you share your experience please, let us know which books did you use and how long did you prepare for the test? Thanks and once again, great job
  12. Congrats big time, wonderful job and a great score, the Gprep you took is provided by Manhattan? or is it different?
  13. Congratulations wonderful score and a great job I am giving my test on the 27th of January and I would love to get a similar score. Have you done any of kaplan CAT's?
  14. Hey Effective Factor, I really hope nothing of that happens to me on the 27th of January. Listen as you are a Guru in the making, could you please suggest some books or links for probability, arrangements, permutation and sets, it's the main topic where I screw up. Thanks
