  1. Hi everybody. I'm David Escuderos from Barcelona - Spain I've just finished my GMAT (for the third time) and I got a 700 (47Q, 38V). I have also taken the TOEFL and I got a 106 score. I am a Software Engineer by the University Polytechnic of Catalonia. My overall score of my under degree is good, but I don't know how to calculate the GPA from my average score. However, I'm in the top 12% of my class. I also have the CPIM certificate by APICS. I have more than 4 years of experience in Consultancy and Software Engineering. Now I'm Project Manager and expert in the company .::ALG::. Advanced Logistics Group. These firm is part of INDRA, one of the greatest technology firms of my country. I leaded many projects in the steel industry as a project manager, projects whose objectives involved the improvement of the Supply Chain Management. My experience has allowed me to gain a lot of technical skills in Computer Optimization, AI, Logistics, and Supply Chain and Production Planning. At the same time, it allowed me to work with many people and get experience in people management. Regarding international experience, I've worked for more than 3 months in Angola, helping the government of that country to perform the legislative election of the last year. I speak Spanish, Catalan, English fluently and Portuguese. I haven't decided which university to apply for yet, but I am considering to apply to Cornell, MIT Sloan, Berkeley HASS or Columbia to start in September 2010. My first reason is that I want to get work experience and knowledge in finance and marketing to add up to my experience in operation management. I think that studying an MBA in those schools would finally let me establish my own company. What do you think about it? Do you think that my profile is good enough to get an admission of any of those schools. Thank you in advance. David.
  2. Hi! In fact, when I did GPrep, I did remember some of the text... but I definitely didn't remember the correct answer of the questions. I think that the real exam is much more difficult than GPrep. I struggled a lot during my real test, especially in the verbal part with the Critical Reasoning. Also It is very difficult to deal with the pressure in the real text. I usually didn't do the AWA part of the GPrep. May be this can account for the difference. Also, I think that the GPrep gives a score a little higher than the real score. In my case, It gave me 2 o 3 points more in the quantitative part and 4 points more in the verbal one. Greetings
  3. Dear friends, After several month of struggling, after thousands of questions answered, after put a lot of efforts, I've made it. I got a 700 (47Q, 38V) score today in the real GMAT exam!! I wanted to thank you all for this great forum where I'd been able to find many good explanations to questions.
  4. I've just got another 750 score in the second GMATPrepTM Test. In this test, I answered wrong 9 question in the quantitative part, which allowed me to get a 49 score, and only 5 in the verbal part, getting a score of 42. I've done the test with much distraction and that made me choose the wrong answer when I had calculated it correctly. I hope not to get so many questions wrong in the quantitative part on Wednesday. I hope to get at least a 700 score. What do you think about it? Greetings.
  5. Good Evening Boys & Girls! I scored 660 (47Q, 34V) in my last attempt, on December. Now I've just spent a month studying to get score above 700. My retake is on the next Wenesday and today I've got a 750 score on the GMatPrepTM. I scored 50Q (with 9 errors) and 42V (with 6 questions wrong). Would you think I'd be able to do it? I'll write on Wednesday with my new score. Greetings, David
  6. You've done it! Congrats Flex! Can anyone please send these maths and verbal notes on my gmail id cd_r3105@hotmail.com Thanks, David
  7. So, I don't understand the meaning of answer A at all.
  8. Originally published in 1950, Some Tame Gazelle was Barbara Pym’s first novel, but it does not read like an apprentice work.(A) does not read like an apprentice work (B) seems not to read as an apprentice work © does not seem to read as an apprentice work would (D) does not read like an apprentice work does (E) reads unlike an apprentice work I'm an spanish native speaker and I don't understand the meaning in answer A, although I've reviewed all your comments on this question. For me "read" it's a verb and we are supposed to used "as" instead of "like" to compare actions. So I don't know why the OA is A. It doesn't make sense to me. If read is a noun here, what is the verb "does not" stands for? Thank you all in advance
