Hi, I took my TOEFL on 26th October and received my official score report some time back. My score is as follows : Listening 30/30 Structure 29/30 Reading 28/30 Essay 6/6 Total 290 / 300 when I had a ranged of 237-290. The listening section is where I feel most people can have a problem. Watching english television channels may help. The passages are rather pretty long at times and questions may related to minute details in them. Plenty of time for the reading comprehension section - so don't hurry up. And don't forget to cross check your answers when you complete your passage - u can go back in this section. Essay - for those of you from English medium should not be a problem. Be good with spellings and avoid making long and ambigous sentensces. All the best. Salil

ur score is ok. i suggest you take a chance and apply for admissions. there is a lot of ambiguity this time in admissionz coz of the new format of GRE, the computer science GRE subject test being cancelled etc. and if u want to retake the test, try to figure out what went wrong and where. One problem I faced was taking too many mock tests so on the actual day the seriousness for the actual gre was not there at all. my score is 1230. and awa scores are awaited. good luck, and r'ber GRE is not the end of the your admission chance. only one of the factors they consider. try to highlight other factors and make it seem as if this happened on a bad day. salil

ETS offers a enhanced diagnostic service for US $ 15 which gives a feedback on your performance after you answer some sample questions. Quant section has some 6 sections with around 10 questions in each while verbals has 2 sections with around a total of 40 questins. I will be trying to admission to Computer Science / Information Technology / MIS / Telecommunication or related fields. Got a verbal dummy section and inbetween I felt that I ws going too slow. So spent less time per question after that and in the end was left with 10 minutes for 2 questions :-( neway m glad that GRE is over :-) Did anyone on the forum try the Diagnostic service offered by ETS ? Took my GRE on the 18th of November and did just ok. Got 490 in verbal and 740 in Quant. I messed up on the verbal section as I was left with around 9 minutes to spare after I completed the section. Mid way I thought I was not doing well with the time and so sped up :-( For those yet to take the GRE, without doing the word list and ample practise on the verbal part u will end up with a poor or average verbal score like I did.
