  1. thank u. i score 4 becoz i took it casually. i regret now. anyways..thank u guys,,u made me comfortable. :)
  2. hi guys i scored 710 but in AWA i score only 4. [:(] how imp is the point of AWA in admission process ?
  3. hi asif u r narrating my own story. :) I had also same nightmare. u know...what is the good thing abt CR. If u understand argument then u can get maximum of question right. Most of my mistakes I made due to not understanding given argument properly. Understand the argument in ur local langu if possible to get the line of reasoning clear. Unless u understand the given argument, u can not crack unseen CR question with high accuracy. keep practice long test based CR. It will help to develop ur comprehension skills. so better for ur prep.
  4. keep urslef in positive frame of mind. keep urself alert. Don't let urself to same silly mistake. u will shoot to 700+ u r doing better than what i did. I got only 640 in GMATPrep. so u will hit higher than 710. best of luck.
  5. don't go for new books. All books have same concepts. So don't waste time. if possible, buy Manhatten SC book and read many times this book. More u read this book, more u have insight abt SC structure. Participate in forum discussion to get variety of question. Buy few books ( OG, Manhatten SC, few online materails, 10 tests will be enuf for test preparation). Give more home test. Monitor your progress. Keep ananlysisng ur mistake. Solving 10lacs question will not help unless u analyse ur mistakes. becoz it tells what u need to improve. t is not easy to improve urself unless u give ur best shot. so,,,if u do all these steps for prep then u will never run out of any material.
  6. hi hardik 1. Give strict timed test for 1000 SC/RC/CR. Take timing factor very seriously. if u can not finish then push urself. This is what u have improve before ur day. Standard of verbal is OK in these materials. 1 and half minute: for SC, CR, Quants. 2 minute: for RC 2. for qunats, solve all hard questions of thsi forum possible. actual Quant standard is more tougher. Give timed tests. 3. Keep urself active while reading questions during home test. don't make urself to read two times a question to understand 'what is being asked'. 4. never get hang over poor show in home test. just check if u can solve those questions which u made wrong in test. Then analyse urself ...what u shud do to get those questions correct. 5. give full length tests to become natural to test environment. Give 10 tests atleast. I mean if u have went thru basics then start giving test.
  7. read my story. I was in worse shape. but still managed to get 710.
  8. mba entrance is more like pushing urself extra mile with same set of skills. point is...u have to get more with same resouces. becoz u can not become einstein. manage stress and strech urself => u will add 100 points with same level of knowledge.
  9. 1. give timed home tests. only solving 100 ques in even in 250 minutes will NOT help you in exam.... solve 100 questions in strictly 150 minutes. 2. kick urself if u repeat same mistake. if u don't hurt urself , u will not take pain seriously. ( note: Kick uself = ask urself. question urself. why u have made same mistakes again? ) 3. repeat above step 1 and step2 unless u find improvement.
  10. thanx locks... quants section started with moderate difficulty. but level reached higher in 4 or 5th question.... I began to sweat under pressure literally. I don't wana mess up anything this time. key to release pressure is that U must have to struggle with question for 2 mins before u decide to guess. don't go blinding guessing each tough problem. if u struggle for 2 mins, u will crack most questions. keep saving time on easy questions that come at regular interval. so save time on easy and invest those extra time on tough cookies. DS in GMAT is vert tricky and tough cookies.
  11. hi cubicle... 1. get free MGMAT mock test from Manhatten site. people generally find its quant hard. but reality is....I kept scoring 51 in MGMAT tests....but i discovered on actaul GMAT that scoring 50 in quants is more challenging than scoring 51 in MGMAT test. 2. Level of quants in OG-11 is poor. 3. Exhaust ur GMATprep test series multiple times. someone already mentioned that if u re-install the software,,,u will get new set of questions. level of quant in GMATprep is near to actual quant level in GMAT. still practice on tough DS problems from various sources. Search forums and solve them... most of the answers i got in actal GMAT in DS were option 'E'. So, u need to analyse most to get to the actual answer. 4. Work with long word problem. you should be quickly comprehend long text based problem into equations. 5. more practice => more confidence that u will solve it correctly => u will actually solve it correctly.
  12. Kaplan Mock= 590 1 MGMAT = 610 2 MGMAT = 670 3 MGMAT = 680 4 MGMAT = 700 5 MGMAT = 650 6 MGMAT = 700 1 GMATPrep = 640 crashed my confidence  free Crack GMAT = 670 (ques are bad...but i needed 4 hours practice.):( 2 GMATPrep = again 640 :yuck: I got nervous breakdown only for next two hours. I gave this test just one day before my final D day. in Real GMAT: 710 (Q:50, V:35) :) :) :)
  13. 4 RCs were of smaller ones..one was of long one... U shud look on verbal section as a whole. what u can achieve very easily...timing in SC and CR. keep each question within 1 and half minutes. so u have plenty of time for RC reading....give 2 minutes for each RC question...for that u don't have to worry anything....keep urself active in reading passage...passages are easy to comprehend. practice more at home. read RC reading stretegy. keep it in mind..implement it on D days...u will fare better. my accuracy in RC were also 50%. just follow RC reading stretegy. and don't quickly choose option when u know that u make most mistake in RC. Give urself 2 minutes per question. u will minimise ur error upto good extent. in quants,,,ques were lengthy and complext. almost 5 lines for one ques. u have to be good at geometry, time and distance, series, number sytems and equation solving in two variables and two degree. be careful in DS question...I found most options as 'E'.
  14. one more thing... in actual exam...quants were tougher....practice good and complex problems if u want to hit 51. in GMAT, for 50 in quants ....I might have made 5 errors Verbals were same ...medium to hard level of OG. one bolf face question :) I got 5 RCs. Thanking notes: I take this opportunity to thank Mitzi (for SC), 12rk34(for SC), effective_factor (for Sc), abhas(for CR) and many more who used to respond to my questions. I used to hate u guys becoz u guys solve those ques so easily. Thank u guys!!! :) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ____________________________________________ My real profile: ritesh saurabh, IIT graduate, 3yrs exp ____________________________________________ ask more..i will write more..I don't know..what I shud add ? :)
