  1. I can't help looking for appartment in one school all the afternoon, but secretly, I hope another school could give good news.......it must be the anxiety that drive me crazy......
  2. Oh my god~ I'm above the average~~~
  3. I like UW, like city, and my research interest is in econometrics/applied econometrics/finance... and UW seems have specific finance field you may choose... Since Davis give me admission in early Feb. but decided not to give me funding, I kind of hate the school. They significantly prolonged my painful waiting period and added my disappointment~~~ BTW, what's the attrition rate in these three schools?
  4. By the way, what kind of placement you guys think that UCSD could have in 5 years?
  5. good news for those who admitted to UW-seatle is I heared from my teacher that Prof. Turnovsky has a reputation to co-author with his students...
  6. 8$ for each an hour teaching wow, so little money...... even in China, you could get more than that for a middle school student.
  7. Guys, I have another question What's the role of visiting scholars/professor to a phd student? I mean, they will teach us? Be our TA? or totally not related? So as the adjunct professors. Do they only teach us or can they be our advisors? I looked into wikipedia, but I guess I prefer some real life information....
  8. I heard that their attrition rate is nearly 50%...(no idea is in econ or business program) How they manage to do that with this relatively simple exams?
  9. thx unitroot the liberal art college thing really bothered me a while... thanks for helping me sort this out...
  10. Well, it's a top30 program and luckily I got admitted. But the following data are driving me crazy: Graduate students in their 1st-2nd-3rd-4th-5th-6th+ years in the department: 20 - 12 - 13 - 8 - 6 - 24 ! :hmm:24 in their 6th plus years! What's that suppose to mean? And the attrition rate is also frightening...... And as an international student, I really have no sense of how good the school is if you want to do some research rather than teaching. So is there anyone could tell me how good the placement really is ? Claremont McKenna College, Economics Dept. Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) Middlebury College (visiting) The American University of Paris -----------------------------? WISE Institute, University of Xiamen Northern Illinois University -----------------------------------? University of Windsor, Canada------------------------------- ? Unknown academic institution (China) World Bank --------------------------------------------well paid at least? Black Hills State University Indiana University of Philadelphia Ohio Wesleyan University UIUC College of Law - post doc-----------------------------what's this suppose to mean? University of Georgia - Athens ------------------------------is this good? University of Oklahoma Virginia Military Academy Weber State University World Bank

  13. I noticed there aren't many (if any) international students who are admitted by UVA now... Is it because they make decisions seperately???
