  1. i got a rejection from another top university today, so it looks like I have no chance for harvard. :( guess i'm not in the position to answer these questions. anyway, i'm not sure about GREs (some say 85th percentile or above), but they require something like 213 or 230 for TOEFL, depending on the dept. anyway, check out their website if you haven't : http://www.gsas.harvard.edu/admissions/ good luck for your applications!
  2. wow congrats! :) what are your stats like?
  3. i'm not too sure myself. from what I understand it involves the adcom sending out acceptances as soon as they come across a suitable candidate during the review of the applications. this is in contrast to some other universities, where they review all the applications before they send out the decisions at the same time. i applied for science PhD. not sure if it works the same way. though my chances of getting in are slim, there's this tiny bit of hope while I still haven't received my rejection letter from them. shall see how it goes. good luck too!
  4. doesn harvard have rolling admissions? so far, i've not heard of anyone who's heard from them this year.
  5. i've already applied for my own funding, since international applicants are encouraged to do so. not sure how the the admissions process goes, but I suppose it differs from school to school. i've heard from my back-up schools, but not from those I really hope to go to. shall have to wait and see before I accept one of these back-ups.
  6. okay, cool :) i just thought it'd be scary if they asked these questions for a science/engineering interview...they might, though. :p
  7. congrats :) yeah, I do envy people who are able to start a topic in this forum, lol. but great job...all the best for the others!
  8. what program application was that interview for?
  9. thanks for sharing...how did you know so much? :) shall have to keep hoping for the best. sigh...
  10. keep trying. the feeling's great when your scores improve the 2nd time. :) (though it's not so great when ETS delays sending your scores and they do not reach the schools in time for consideration)
  11. i thought of doing that, but was afraid of being told straight in the face (well, sort of) that my application has been rejected and a letter is on its way. I think I shall wait a little longer. :)
  12. hi laura, thanks for your encouragement too! I really hope to hear from them soon. well, I believe at the right hand side of a topic started by yourself, there's a red cross (delete button) if no one has replied to that thread yet. try that... and good luck for your upcoming interview. :) hope we'll all make it to the US this fall. liffyun
