  1. Mitzi / ChandraXXX, Could you please explain why B is wrong ? I dont think it is a verb issue or a modifier issue. Because " symbolizing" is a modifier and need not be paralleled to "advocated". and the modifier " symbolizing......" can as well modify " african land" . On mgmat forums, Dan says " African land" is UNDENTIFIED. So, I guess it is a MEANING PROBLEM. but not able to figure out what is ambigious there. PLEASEEEEEEE HELP!!
  2. Hie annihilation, there are two sets of Qs in each test of LSAT on 1000 cr doc? i guess only one of them is gmat-like ?? is it the first or second ?? any idea ???
  3. Mitzi, isnt it necessary here to use " past tense" .....the success of X happened...though it is fact. I think i ;m missing some thing basic.... could you throw some light on what you said above ??? thankyou...
  4. If it is " than their parents DID"...arent we assuming that parents are dead?? I think it should be " than their parents have..."
  5. Since parallelism is one of the issues here....i cud short list it to D and E... But whats wrong with "even WHEN" ?? Is the that WHEN always refers to time ?? i Some how feel that the use of ALTHOUGH in option D is not appropriate. Could anyone throw some light ?? Thanks in advance!! :- )
  6. pheww!! Thanks bear&bull! :-) I was worried that i was missing some basic rule ;) anyways...its clear that its only here the infinitive is unidiomatic.
  7. Erin, Why do you say "an infinitive" is almost always wrong on gmat.....I encountered many questions that use infinitives. Is it a general rule ?? Could you please elaborate on this ?? Thankyou,
  8. you are actually missing somemore possibilities here. you are taking into account only .... JSBGBGBG,BGJSBGBG,BGBGJSBG.BGBGBGJS and SJGBGBGB,GBSJGBGB,GBGBSJGB,GBGBGBSJ then what about GJSBGBGB,GBGJSBGB and so on... ?? and BGJSBGBG,BGBGJSBG..and so on ??...even in these cases...john and suzane are beside each other....SO! there are actually 7 + 7 =14 ways... Hence the answer is..2*4!*4! -2*7*3!*3! Hope this helps understand!! :-) Goodluck!!
  9. The sentence means to say .. " As A happens, B happens, because of C but still D causes E" In option C, "for" correctly replaces "because" and "yet" " but still" . B could have been correct if there was a semicolon or a conjunction before "furthermore" ...because further usually starts a sentence afresh. Hope this helps!!
  10. Could someone please explain whats wrong with option "B"? i thought it is more appropriate as it directly talks about the paintings.. 300 of 700 paintings attributed to be X's ... ??
