  1. IMO D. Narrowed down to C and D. lets consider a scenario: 20 years back Photovoltaic power plants costs 100, so today they cost 10 Now, for Photovoltaic power plants to be less expensive traditional plants today must cost less than 10. Tradtional plants: 20 years back costs 1 then today might 10. Incase of former conclusion fails and in case of latter conclusion holds valid. Thus, We need some detail which validates it is >10 to hold conclusion valid. D provides this info. When 20 years back it was lower than traditional plants costs, it must be less expensive now as well. Hence D.

    GMAT sets

Hello, I ve sets 21-31. Could anyone please let me know from where I could get sets 1-20? If anyone has them, please fwd them to chill_ayush@yahoo.co.in Thanks in advance!!
  3. IMO D. First ask yourself what forced the central bank to intervene? Is it 'currency continued its slide to a record low' (subject of the preceeding phrase) or 'dollar' (object of the preceeding phrase). It the former one, convinced till here? Ok!! Now the difference between forcing and which forced: A participle phrase set-off by a comma always modify the subject of the preceeding phrase whereas a phrase introduced by relative pronoun which modifies the immediate previous noun. So in this item, 'forcing' modifies 'currency continued its slide to a record low' and 'which forced' modifies 'dollar'. Hence D.
  4. yup, here is the link http://www.www.urch.com/forums/gmat-sentence-correction/113538-gmat-prep-q-7-a.html could anyone clarify?

  6. Agreed. different from is the correct usage in Gmat. But i'm not sure whether GMAT tests on this alone...
  7. 1. we need a conjuction "and" to join to phrases. D and E are out. 2. both superioty over and superioty to are correct in GMATLand. 3. simple past tense is used in first phrase "car was demonstrated", so we use the simple past tense in second phrase as well, hence A and B are out. IMO C
  8. by introducing 'that', are we dividing main clause into two clauses...?
  9. IMO B...whats is the source of this question??
  10. Guys, when the future is not certain we prefer would rather than will...Isn't will in E is wrong?
  11. Because of his closed head injury, Dr. Connors has not and possibly never will be able to practice medicine again. (A) has not and possibly never will be able to practice (B) has not and possibly will never be able to practice © has not been and possibly never would be able to practice (D) has not and possibly never would be able to practice (E) has not been able to practice and possibly never will be able to practice SPOILER: E
  12. Original range is 112 - 45 = 67 Now, after selling 20 shares of X, X will be 36 and after buying 24 shares of Y, Y will be 118 So, new range is 118 - 36 = 82 So, increase in range = 82 - 67 = 15, that is D.
  13. why not E. I'm getting both the answers C and E. Could you explain??
