I think have posted the same doubt to some other thread but want to ask you also. I am not feeling comfortable reading the SC book. Actually I havnt taken formal classes in grammer hence got bored while reading the book!!! Any suggestions...
  2. Sharma ji one quick question.... I started reading MGMAT SC guide but after reading first few pages I got bored and thought this is not for me. the reason might be I havnt studied grammer in my school days and I cant understand whatall written there....:( What should I do?? continue studying the book or look out for some option?? please help

  5. hey sri how is going:whistle: What about your progress in GMAT Prep have you got the required books??
  6. for abhishek009 thanks for the link . The book is nice and it is similar to RS AGGARWAL the popular book for quant among engineering guys.:hmm:
  7. What i will recommend is to make concepts sound and then go for all shortcuts and accuracy
  8. Sorry mate can't say but have heard lot of good words about manhattan Prep:rolleyes:
  9. Going4it, Thanks for the wisdom words:) I am going to buy manhattan SC not for getting $50 from you :D but after your such a confidence one can say it would be inherently good. well which book you recommend for number properties ?? As canadian phd say he is having Manhattan NP is it ok??? Well am dwelling to give GMAT from last year but now I have decided will give it one shot and the best one:) best of luck for your application and hope you get Wharton :grad:
  10. to candian phd stay positive, believe on yourself and expect the best of the best. best of luck waiting to see your debreif on how to score 700+ on just finished my gmat:tup:
  11. I recommend following books. 1) OG 11,12 ( best prep available) 2) Manhattan Series 3) Powerscore bible for CR and SC 4)If you want additional practise go for Kaplan and OG quant and verbal workbooks. 5)Manhattan and powerscore is best for SC
  12. my thoughts are parallel with the soloman . First of all go through this forum. Here there are no of people who have done exceptionally well in the same situations.
  13. I think only one book is not sufficient for GMAT prep. For every section there are some really good books available I recommend following books. 1) OG 11,12 ( best prep available) 2) Manhattan Series 3) Powerscore bible for CR and SC 4)If you want additional practise go for Kaplan and OG quant and verbal workbooks. 5)Manhattan and powerscore is best for SC please check the reviews in case any doubt
  14. I think you are doing fairly well as you have said its only month practise[clap] I just want to say that your first focus should be on the concept and then the time..... If your concepts are clear than quant is seriously the main pillar for your high score. hope for the best and be positive:)
  15. First of all many thanxs for starting this brilliant thread.... Well score my journey is also like you have lot of on and off to the GMAT prep. But now I have decided to do it seriously...:sleepy: Well m an engg graduate but its a bit long now ...I have seen m very dusty in quant . had one question you have recommended the barrons is it good for quant basics n what is good about this book... what about your plan for gmat
  16. First of all congratulations to be in the league of 700 ians [clap] Well definitely you are having edge than the people who are in 600 range and most importantly all top b schools consider 700 as a good score.. I have one query how do you rate level of difficulty in the gmat now and the earlier when you have given?? What about sentence correction and RC..... is it a smooth sail!!:hmm: once again congrats and thanks for the debrief which b schools you are going to apply.:grad:
  17. well first of all its nice to see that your trying your best [clap] Ok about powerscore bible and kaplan you can buy it from amazon.com but it will take around 10 days to reach it may take a fortnight.:hmm: EDIT BY MODERATOR
  18. I am totally agree with viveksurya the consecutive integers are having both mean and median equal that is important. It may be 1,2,3,4,5,6 going away from zero on number line or it may be -6,-5,-4,-3,-2,-1 coming towards zero in this case.
  19. Hey that is great dude just thinking confidently about your goal is half battle won[clap] well now I just want to reconfirm whether you have Powerscore bible for CR and its really good that you got Manhattan SC. Do manhattan SC in parallel with that of OG you will got to know it what I am saying. For RC i will say OG is good and if you want you can practice it from 3000 RC document. For quant I cant say but I mostly rely on OG, SETS and Kaplan . I am having kaplan but havnt seen quant from that so cant suggest you. But OG with additional official practice material is available and that is very good. Whatever may be your routine packet you have to do it sincerely and your packet seems to be perfect combination only 5 RC is little bit more I think:mad:. Figure out that its on you if it seems to you that your RC is very weak than its perfectly ok. See I don't say essay is not important or so but you can master them in a week time. Just go through the templates by Erin and some other material floating around TM. Practice according to that write 5 sentences. 1st Introduction, 2nd to 4th matter with examples whether you are supporting or not and 5th one is you conclusion. that's it.:grad: Don't bother much about AWA you will get 5 to 5.5 in 5 days.....:D If you have any other question please ask. have to tell you some thing more after you have exhausted all material and beginning of practice tests..... Be positive and you will get much more than what you have expected and it is eternal truth...:sleepy:
  20. Hi Srivatsan. first of all I will say that see the gmat is not the last thing in the world!!! Well I am not the gmat guru but as your fellow gmat colleague I can firmly say that there are some flaws in your basics. First of all dust off yourself from your past gmat now you have left job too so you have ample of time to invest in studies. Brush up your quant and verbal basics then tocuh official guides. About verbal I dont know whether you have Powerscore CR bible or not buy it if you dont have and for SC buy Manhattan SC guide as you said you are pretty good in that so no problem in that but if possible do this book its really nice. One thing is very clear if you want 550+ you have to excel in quants. It is much easier and less time consuming to score in quants as told by experience of gurus. If you want 550 plan and study for 600+ Read the debrief of krovvidy, tanksingh,TBAY,star _321. If I were in your shoes i have followed the batch study ( 25 SC, 20 CR, 4 RC ) everyday ya every single day as per your stamina. Do SETS,OG 10 and 11 with powerprep for further practice as all the material is from official source. Hope it will help.
  21. you have great confidence and m sure you are going to achieve your target.:grad: well man you have done very well in quant without practise ...seriously you just have to lift your score in verbal and after seeing your weeks of practise m sure you are going to rock[clap][clap]
  22. Greatness Inherent...:)
  23. well first of all i as per my knowledge the OG 12 is not upto the standard ...... well its very personal view :hmm:. why dont you check yourself!! ok about manhattan i say the quant series is very good. specially the books on number system is must have. i think first u give one PP then you will got to know where you stand... this is vey important and then tell me may be then we can select best book for you.:grad: "Do sincerely whatever you do"
  24. well if u wana really score high u can do it. u must buy OG 10, OG 11, kap 800. go through these books thorougly and then give Powerprep and c how u r doing ...... if your score is as per expection then its ok if not once again go through the material and concentrate hard where you are lagging. The mantra for sucess is nothing but to" Do Sincerely whatever you do"
  25.:mad::mad::mad::mad: i have stucked in the basic of the quant number system please help i 9 they are too basic but i think if our basics are strong then only v can score high on gmat . 1) find the greatest no of four digits which when divided by 10,11,15 and 22 leaves 3,4,8 and 15 as reminders respectively. a) 9907 b) 9903 c) 9893 d) none of the above 2) how to find the LCM of 4.5, 0.009 and 0.18 3) Smallest square no . which is exactly divisible by 2,3,4,-9,6,18,36 and 60 is a) 900 b) 1600 c) 3600 d) none of the above.
