  1. thats good, I think I might adapt it to how to set yourself apart in an applicant pool, so its less about me
  2. Hi All, I haven't posted here in a while, but I've been asked to speak at a panel on grad school and the grad school admissions process. I've got a few things prepared, but I just wanted to pop in on the forum and see if you were attending, what sort of things you'd like a 2nd year to answer, or offer up for discussion Thanks! -OV
  3. Hey All, Haven't posted in a while, but I wanted to quickly ask, what do the rest of you pay (if anything) in fees to your uni's? I have a tuition waiver, but I feel like way to much of my stipend is going into fees and I'd like to see if this complaint is justified Any info would help Thanks -OV
  4. that depends on the contract and the school

  7. I've been told you don't fully appreciate duality until you lock yourself in a library for a month and do 30 problems a day that being said they are worrisome, at the very least they're an important hurdle, and everything you do first year relates back to them
  8. Hey All, all semester long I've been typing my notes and now with finals coming up I'd like to convert them to pdf and post them to a website, does anyone have any recommendations for how to do this, what sites are good at hosting pdfs for free etc? Thanks -OV
  9. during the application process you have graduation to look forward to, during first year you have comps hanging over you head
  10. @economists, I don't know if thats an implication of the term hazing. Im not top 10, but our professors and DGS have made numerous comparisons between first year and hazing
  11. you could dress in military gear and be a "tom sargent"
