Hi,
I am new to GRE forum. Today I did some practice tests and was surprised by the way that ETS calculates the score.
There are 30 questions on verbal part and I, with no preparation, answer 15 correctly. I think my score should be: 200 + 600*15/30=500. But it actually is 380 :o. I don't know why.
Have anyone experience it?
Thank a bunch.
A. supply: donate
B. argue: debate
C. grumble: accuse
D. drink: guzzle
E. pacify: intervene
The answer is D and it's reasonable but I don't know why can't be b?
Thanks a million.
IMO, B is the answer, should be independent.
Rockets which work by chemical reaction and are independent of atmospheric oxygen. are used to power interplanetary space vehicles.
Just my 2 cents.
1. I think D, we use gerund here, expressing.
2. B, stated ---> we see "fell" here.
3. D, we should add "will", "may" or something like that.
Just my 2 cents.
B. much as, but I wonder if D is wrong?
to Tho, "that" is definitely correct. why didn't you provide a reason for choosing that? you just guessed?

I don't think B, I choose D coz "that" takes the place of "the work"
