  1. Does anyone know who long it takes to send score to unis via score report forms. I will pay by bank draft so it will take some time to reach them. How long will they take after they recieve the payment?
  2. All the best Sabna! Do let us know how it goes. I hope you get (at least) more than I did. See? how generous I am ;) Heh heh. -Mahbub
  3. Still cannot decide man ... May be I will wait for another semester... Or just complete this ****ty MBA and have a predectiable and mundane life. My dad isn't too inclined to send me abroad, he wants me to stay in Bangladesh (I am his only son). So things are not looking very bright ... -M
  4. Yes Adonis I agree it's wired, It's time I switched for the last time in life. Thanks Vineet, very good suggestion. I will have to spend some time with my SOP. May be that will give me a sense of direction. Will let you know in detail after applying. Wish me luck :) -Mahbub
  5. Hello Guys, I took the test on 18th Nov and got 660 in verbal and 780 in quantitative section. I will let you know about the AWA after getting the score. Wouldn't like to comment on it before getting the final score. I got lowish scores in both the powerpreps and didn't have that impressive a 'power prep' so I am happy with what I scored. Lately I have formed a habit of being satisfied with what I have heheh....but that's another story. I got 2 Quantitative sections and a verbal. In the verbal section I rarely got a word which I haven't already come across although I was not sure about several of their meanings. The two quantitative sections went okay but due to lack of time I had to guess 2/3 questions. Besides I made a mistake while answering a simple question and realized it as soon as I confirmed the answer. ETS should give a second chance to deal with these type of situations (but they will not do anything, I am sure). Anyways, my main problem is I can't decide what / where I want to go for my studies. I have always been a dilettante in a lot of subs - I graduated from CS, I am currently doing MBA and took GRE so that I can get out of this MBA thing ;) Recently I find a very strong interest in the fields of Psychology, Neuroscience, Genetics and (belive it or not ) Biomedical Engineering. Wish me luck so that I can decide soon and stick to it up to the completion. Thanks to my friend SKREMON (who wants me to study veterinary science .... lol ) for introducing to this wonderful site and thanks to Erin for creating it. Also thanks to all the fellow test magic members, ALL of you guys are great! -Mahbub
  6. There is perfect Hexagon with each side equaling 6. what is the area of that Hexagon. The answer given in the ETS book is 54 sqrt(3) but mine is 36 + 36 sqrt(2). The attached file may help you visualize it better.
  7. The ratio of D to P in soup S is D/P The ratio of D to P in soup S is (D+2) / (P+2) Since D>P, we can observe that the ratio in first column is bigger, by plugging two small numbers. Say, D = 5, P = 3. Here, 5/3 is greater than 7/5.

I was thinking of going through the Barrons guide but the word list in there is too long. So I started studyging Word Smart. I will study the Barrons list after that. Is that a good choice? I also sometimes study the Kaplan Verbal Workbook, I have some other books Arco and probably Priceton (My sister has that so I am not sure). I have collected copies of a books for reading practices too as sometimes I feel that my reading speed is not that good. I didn't take practice test that seriously but I know anything above 500 is probably beyond me limit at the moment. The problem is that I tend slow down after some time and this is hampering my progress a lot. I wonder how I can stay regular in my preparation. I graduated from North South University in Bangladesh from Computer Science 2 semesters ago. Then I worked as a Teaching Assistant there and wasted some golden opportunities for studying GRE materials because I had plenty of spare time then. The fact that I am enrolling in an mba program from this week will certainly not fasten my pace. I am really worried that I will have to stick with this mba **** in Dhaka University (Dhaka is the city where I live) which I don't like at all. I have decided I will study words even during the mba classes!

Hi, I am new to this site. I was introduced to it by my friend (Remon) and I like it a lot. I am planning to take the GRE test in around 2 months. About a month ago I took one of the two powerprep tests ETS provides and got 730 in quantitative and 390 in verbal. I was expecting a lot more in the verbal section and I was really shoched to get a score that low. Can anyone give me suggestions on how I can increase my score in the verbal section to above 750? I think I deserve more than that..:)
