All this time, I wasn't talking about me. I am a simple business administration student in a southamerican country that really has nothing to do with this, because has neither the career nor the grades. But I discovered this forum a year ago because I was helping my boyfriend with the toefl test. He was pursuing an admission in at least a top 30 university in usa for his dream (and i would recall it a dream because in my country when you are an economist you just get a job in the private sector and try to be there all your life). But no, he wanted to do research, to show abroad that he can contribute with the economics knowledge, because he was sure he is capable of doing that. Then, when I talked to him about this forum, we realized that there is a lot of competition: There are the american undergraduates, the physics or mathematicians, and the guys that were top of theri class in everything and had THE LORS. He learned to be down-to-earth and jus hoped for the best. No incredible lors, no top of the class, a master in mathematics in a southamerican program, even a low score in the gre verbal part. And now, he is admitted from the waitlis in Minnesota. He has just told me the incredible news and I cried for happiness. I work in a NGO so right now, anyone here even know what this program means and I just though that anyone that is reading this forum would really understand me. And today all the citizens in my country found out that an anti-establishment military man has won the most votes in the presidential vote and is headed into a runoff against the daughter of imprisoned former. So this day changes everything for me. I know that I won't see my boyfriend and perhaps won't be with him when he finishes his phd in 5 years. I just want to write this, because I wanted to give some hope and there dreams that can come true. Like Steve Jobs says: "There is no reason not to follow your heart."

Yep, it's the year of the waitlisted. My minnesota letter was like that Chicago letter. So there are personalized letters!!
