  1. Hello, I have long desired to do my post graduation & applied to top ten universities in USA. Fortunately got approved of admission to one of them. After my application I got married (in december) & my spouse is in USA from last 7 yrs on H1B & also is in process for GC (stage I-140) I am still in India (was waiting to hear from universities) while my husband is in USA now. The question is- will my F1 visa be rejected on potential immigrant basis because my spouse is in USA? I am worried as this will keep me away from benefits of scholarship ,TA/RA & OPT.:( I have not registered my marriage yet. Should I apply as Single status & get registered married after reaching USA? (my sponsor is my father & not my spouse) Will this land me in difficulties later?:hmm: Should I try for F1 as married & declare the truth about his GC process & if rejected apply for H4? (and bear the monetary & experience loss) Please help me. Any suggestions /experience/ advice appreciated
  2. could you share your real gre scores vs practice tests scores too? thanks.
  3. @ Kiranchitturi I really appreciate your strategy & agree that the internet can ruin studies... Its been quite some time I just keep browsing on gre stuff & reading 'just finished' posts.... Now i really need to get back to studies :) Thanks for sharing your experience. Barrons, kaplan & nova seem to be the best for studies.
  4. Anki - friendly, intelligent flashcards hope that helps good luck
  5. try Anki software... it is free & to me is the easiest way to learn & review words like the way plucesiar told. I found it on some post in this forum. It has all barrons word lists... & presents them randomly instead of alphabetical order. Good one! Gre Bible - Vocabulary bible is also great way.
  6. http://learnwordlist.com/word-list-quiz.html a good site for verbal practice...
  7. @ Yuvi.... great score.... like me you too have to focus on verbal I just did probability section from GRE Bible.... & it seemed much easier than any other books. I hope i wont miss them in the mock tests i give now onwards. Will try barrons probability exercises now... :) I still didn't get very serious about vocab..... But will do soon. This thread helps me to keep going.
  8. Competition with oneself may encourage us to bring out the best .- This can be explained further & added too.
  9. @ yuvi.....its missing in mine too.... :(
  10. Even with the Gre Bible I find it difficult to finish 10 wordlists a day.... Rest... my schedule is : 2-4 Reading comprehension 15 sentence completion 15 antonyms 15 analogies 2 issue argument reading (writing may be from next month) One hour of Quantitative. its the second day today.... I am finding difficult to cram the words. Well I just want to know if you all memorize all the words you are not familiar with when you do sentence completion /antonyms /analogies. What is the correct way? I mean I usually don't bother to look at the choices left if I get the answer correct by elimination process or other methods. Should i find out meaning of those words at the same time?
  11. Thanks Yuvi... I was unaware of this... will keep in mind to cross check . I am an Architecture graduate & wish to specialize in Urban design /Industrial design. havent really sorted universities... finding info. Need real good score to get through the top universities.... & a bare minimum of 1450 How about you Yuvi?
  12. Ok... So here it is. 3 months exactly to go.... I was too curious to find out where I stand, so gave one powerprep 2.1 test today... Scores are as follows: Verbal - 410:( Surprisingly all Rc's were correct except one answer. I goofed up mostly in analogies & antonyms. Which again means its time to memorize wordlists. Solution : Have started memorizing through Vocabulary Bible & Anki's. For now... 5 wordlists of 30 words each everyday from VB.... 3000 words to be done by 11th May Hope to see considerable change in verbal score on 12th Quantitative - 730 With one silly mistake , & 6 other wrong answers in Data interpretation/ series / prime factors /proportion (solution word problems) Tensed.... about Verbal. Will keep posting the progress. Goal- 800Q 650V
  13. Hello all... I have planned to give test on 22nd July. Will post my study plan soon. Right now just focusing on vocabulary with help of Anki flash cards. target score - Verbal- 650 Quants- 800 Current score in Diagnostic test is too low even to mention, which scares me a lot. So I am looking forward to share study experiences with all. Keep reading issues & arguments posted on the forum. Plan to start writing soon.
