  1. Anyone worked with/studied under Rocheteau at Irvine? Is he open to sitting on students' dissertation committees? I noted that he doesn't teach monetary, but does teach one of the first year macro classes.
  2. Institution: UC San Diego Program: Ph.D. Economics Decision: Rejected Funding: N.A. Notification Date: 3/9/2012 Notified through: Email Posted on GC: No Comments: That's all she wrote. Funny, my first three notifications were acceptances, all the rest rejections...
  3. Institution: Minnesota Program: PhD Economics Decision: Rejected Funding: Notification date: 3/5/2012 Notified through: Website Posted on GC: no Comments: expected
  4. Same here with UMN. Either they would take it as a sign of my extreme interest...or desperation :-)
  5. In: Irvine ($$$), Santa Cruz ($$$), Davis (WL). WL: none. Out: Stanford, Berkeley, Stanford GSB, WUSTL, Northwestern, UCLA. Waiting: Minnesota, San Diego.
  6. Anyone still waiting on Minnesota? I still haven't seen anything from them, which I assume is a bad sign, but still have slight hope...
  7. Institution: UCLA Program: PhD in Economics Decision: Rejection Funding: Notification Date: 3/2/12 Notified Through: Email Posted on GC: No Comments
  8. Clearly the pattern was acceptances, then waitlists yesterday, and presumably now the "we regret to inform you"
  9. I assumed so, I'd just need closure :-)
  10. Anyone else still waiting for Minnesota? I haven't heard a thing from them yet....
  11. Institution: Stanford Program: PhD in Economics Decision: rejected Funding: n/a Notification Date: March 2 Notified Through: Email to check website Posted on GC: No Comments: This was the one school where I really hoped to say "Holy s**t, they actually let me in!" Such is life.
  12. From my second hard knowledge having communicated with a few former grads, the general feeling was that the professors were quite approachable, and that it was a supportive atmosphere.
  13. Though it appears Rocheteau doesn't teach money. Interesting.
  14. As unreliable as any other ranking :)
