  1. lol that does not sound good! Must be coz of the stress from dealing with hunderds of applications! I will send an email and hope for the best! Thanks for the email address.
  2. Which email address did you send the email to?
  3. I havn't heard from them yet....
  4. Hi Neeral, Congrats on getting admitted to NCSU. Hope you get good news from OSU and UCI. You seem really tense, just relax and think calmly about your options. Here is my :2cents: : You need to think hard about the chances of improving your application for Fall 2007 (fall would be better like prometheys says). Reapply only if you truly believe you can improve your application. Things you can add/improve: a) GRE Score (Verbal and Analytical). b) GRE Subject Score (might be very helpfull if you get a good score). c) Publication(s) (this might greatly improve your application as well). Things to think about: a) Were your LORs good? b) Was your SOP good? If you choose not to reapply, NCSU is a pretty well ranked and upcoming school. You should consider it thoroughly. If you choose to reapply, working for a year would be better than unnecessarily extending your MS. I dont think the company would be pissed. Lots of people switch jobs much more frequently!
  5. Hi Jupiter, For the program that you have applied to, I think the adcom will weigh your management skills more than your GPA while deciding on applications. The only way you can prove that is via your LORs and SOP by quoting examples from your 5 years at the consulting firm. This is just my personal opinion. I might be wrong because I dont have any experience with applying for a PhD in IT Management.
  6. I have been offered the 13K TA stipend and tution waiver as well. They informed me by email a couple of weeks back.
  7. I got all my LORs from past professors/lecturers. I have some research experience (undergraduate level) and lots of tutoring experience.
  8. Thanks Eddie and Juggernaut for your suggestions. The only person who mentioned USC CS Phd in the grad cafe had been rejected and he got that news by calling the department secratary. I will email them and find out whats happening....
  9. 2 years work experience (Java, SOA, JINI, JNI). BE in Software Engineering from the University of Auckland, NZ (GPA: 7.95/9.0) GRE 1300 (V: 520, Q: 780, A: 4.5) TOEFL (paper-based): 677 Must have been my LORs and SOP that did the trick, coz my GRE score isnt that flash.
  10. Does this imply that they have already made their PhD admission decisions? Or do they make the PhD decisions after the MS decisions?
  11. I got an email from them in the first week of March telling me that I have been recommended for admission!:D I had mixed feelings about it at first because it was not one of my top choices (I was really hoping/praying for CMU or UDub!). But I have been looking around for more info about the UIUC CS PhD program and realised that it is pretty good. I will most probably be accepting their offer. What do you guys/gals think about the UIUC CS PhD program? Wish all of you all the best with your admission results
  12. Hi, You are facing that problem because of the browser that you are using (I had the same problems with an old version of Firefox). IE is the browser that is recommended by ETS.
