  1. Raj, I am not an expert! However I do think it will be better if you speak to an alumnus and ask this question to them. You GMAT equivalent seem to be around the averages. With a well rounded application, I think you have a chance. As far as scholarship, it depends on you extracurricular activities, proven leadership qualities, academic and work record etc. Good Luck!
  2. Hello GMAT takers, I decided to return to this forum and share my MBA application experience. I have taken GMAT again but got 600 :( I targeted Canadian universities and received my first admit from Schulich. I am yet to be interviewed by Queen's and Broad MSU(the only US school I applied). I am still waiting to hear back from Rotman. So here is a little advice for your application: 1- Network, Network, Network. Spoke to alumnus and show your efforts to the admissions committee. Use it to show your interest about the school. 2- Attend information sessions and/or events. Build your relationship with the university starting from the early stage of your application. 3- Use your essay and overall application to demonstrate fit the school. Make sure you will add value, explaining it with specific examples. Make sure school fits your career goal. Describe specifically how it will help you to get there. 4- Finally, you should remain positive at all times. Until the decision is made, you never know what the outcome will be. Use this time to follow periodically with the university. Show your interest and passion. You should remember GMAT is only one piece of your application. It very important t have a high score if you desperately need scholarship. If not, with a little below average GMAT, you still have chance. You need to focus on demonstrating fit and explain how this school will help you to achieve your career goals. Well rounded application is key to achieve our true goal, MBA degree. Good Luck! :grad:
  3. After reading the question carefully the answer should be B not D. Malachi returns home at the end of the first day that rains, thus it rains on Monday. 4/5*4/5*1/5 = 16/125 =0,128
  4. IMO. D Question ask what is the probability that Malachi will return on Tuesday morning. He should stay 3 days in camp, so we need to calculate the probability of not rain. Thus, 4/5*4/5*4/5=64/125, which is 0.512
  5. Here is my approach. Initial water 99/100 ; after evaporation 99-x/100-x =98/100 => 9900-100x=9800-98x =>100=2x => x=50 (substance of water evaporated) 50/99 will give you percent of water evaporated.
  6. IMO. A. We already know that each box in J is lighter than those in shelf K. The median box is the 45th, the heaviest of shelf J.
  7. I haven't heard such comparison before, but I would say 680 is accurate for strong quantitative score. Looking at your RC, It looks like you can easily improve your SC score. Good luck!
  8. Good point Naso, with this information the question can be solved.
  9. If a-b is even, then a and b are either both even or both odd. If a/b is even, the a and b must both even, since odd/odd is odd.(You can plug numbers to test) We only know that a and b are even, but I am still not sure how accurate this question is. You can eliminate all answer choices by plugging a=8 and b=2. Only choice left will be D.
  10. The OA is wrong. IMO the answer is C, here is why: 1- |x+3|=14 leads to two solutions; x=11 and x=-17 2- Can be transformed into |x+2|=13, again two solutions; x=11 and x=-15 Combined we can see that x must be 11 thus sufficient.
  11. Vijay1311, -3 is an odd number and an integer. Statement 1 always leads to odd, thus sufficient, statement 2 can lead to odd or even number.
  12. IMO D x/600=y/300 => 300x=600y => x=2y Now 1 gives us an equation that can be resolved as 2y+y=3000 =>y=1000 2 can be resolved as 3x=6000 => x=2000, if x=2y => then 2000=2y => y=1000
  13. Shreeman, I have experienced the same humiliation after the exam. Certainly I am not going to leave GMAT to beat me, but with the frequency of this type of post, I start to doubt of the accuracy of practice tests. I have to point that during practice tests, I am calm and confident, but during the real exam, no matter what I do, I get excited. I certainly believe in good luck during the exam and looking forward to get a result of 700+. Good luck to you. You are not the only one facing such difficulties.
  14. Nikki700, I studied for the exam and believe to have the knowledge. I went through all practice materials that I had, so I purchased Princeton 1012 practice questions. They started out easy but still practice source. This time I am paying close attention to each question when I review them. It looks like you need to improve Quant, but I have to improve Verbal. My score 48 in quant is still low for me. Before any preparation I spored 47. My target is Q50V40. I will use ear plugs again during both sections and try to not think how much I will get. My AWA score came out as 4.5. I believe it is due to analysis of an issue. I figured that I am not giving enough examples to strengthen my opinion. September 21st is the big day, lets see what happens.
  15. I am going to retake GMAT after 4 weeks. I hoping to get 700+ this time. I changed my preparation strategy and I will post later if that helped to improve the actual GMAT score.
