  1. thanks i was fortunately able to resolve it...i got to change locations to another site at the last minute....worked out well.
  2. clarities, My site seemed shoddy too. The receptionist was extremely unorganized which wasted most of my early time before the test during which I was planning to do a little meditation and listen to some classical music. Instead I had to stand in front of her desk while she was talking on the phone, typing on the computer, and fumbling through the drawers for keys to the locker. After that, the inside room was ok and peaceful, a little too cold I thought. Thank god I brought layers. But the real annoyance was having to wait a few minutes to get noticed raising my hand for the break. Could not leave the room until the lady came in and escorted you out. Despite the fact they had cameras everywhere and a lady at the monitoring desk, they managed to miss me waving both my arms flailingly. I finally had to move close to the glass window to get recognized. And then she looked angry and gestured that I should go sit down immediately. Fricking Biatch you cost me 3 minutes of my bathroom and snack break.
  3. Excited to be done with it! The frustrating part is not getting to see what you missed Verbal was last section and that to question 25 to 27 had a really dense and long passage with less than 4 minutes so i compromised just so i can get the last ant/anal.... quant was really easy i thought. much easier than any even my powerprep.... no probability or counting at all....except in experimental powerprep score V 780 Q 740 i felt so good about the quant that i even took their experimental section....apparently you can win 300 bucks if you score well... Here's my prep if anyone cares.. 4 months 1. Barrons Started here and quickly finished their paper tests. The cd CATs were nice. maybe slightly more challenging than the real but close. Word lists obviously is important. 2. Big Book. good practice for verbal albeit only paper. Do it early on and then move to CBTs. 3. Nova Bible My best friend for 2 months. Absolutely amazing in testing so many concepts and brute math as well. The CD was lacking but the book was outstanding. MUST HAVe 4. CATs in order of difficulty 1. CATprep 2. Edusoftech 3. 800score 4. kaplan Found some random tests with princeton, arco, petersons... Order of these tests depends on your psyche. If you want to be shocked and then ramp it up, take the catprep or bigcd test earlier on. all kinds of challenges from running out of time, to deciphering weird graphs, to doing ridiculously long brute math. Leave yourself time to recover from these experiences. Then Build confidence with the Bigbook, barrons, kaplan, princeton. these are moderate to difficult and are plentiful in content. lots of material here. Eventually hit the cambridge and powerprep as they are close to real... What i did was slightly different. I did most of the bigcd and catsprep in the middle to end of my prep. Getting shaken in the process. Then did the powerprep to get confidence back. Then the 2 wks before test, I went back to the remaining catprep, bigcd, and 800score. Just seeing that I was doing much better on these tests, even though not perfect by any means, was good for me. Point is marginal improvemet on really hard stuff was really boosting for me. And that happened b/c I already had the powerprep reference point. I kept procrastinating for weeks on setting a date, expecting to have taken it before summers end. My confidence rose when this month, I started dreaming about geometric figures and permutations--that was my sign. Thanks everyone here for all the help and thanks to the people running this extraordinarily useful site.
  4. can you cancel your test date the day before the test or the morning of the test? i realize you will forfeit your fee but will they allow you to cancel it without it showing up as an attempt? kinda emergent thanks
  5. what if you do cancel the day before or the morning of the test? does it get reported as an attempt but failure to show up ? or is it just you lose the money but it doesn't get reported....
  6. 1. ranges from 23 to 33 which is 11 values inclusive 2. i think its A the deviation from the mean for 1,2,1 has the sum of (1/9) + (1/9) + (4/9) as numerator of variance for any number below 1 the the deviation from the mean will be more than that value..... 3.
  7. just a warning when finding out the number of solutions to those algebra problems....to take note of positive solutions or non-negative. x +y+z = 7 C(9,2) = 36 non-negative solutions (including 0) C(6,2) = 15 positive solutions
  8. combination with repitition all the way through ways to distribute n things to r places (or people) is C (n+r-1, r-1) total distrubtions C(9,2) = 36 ways to distribute with at least one getting 3 (just in case you didn't logically conclude it was the same) 1 person gets 3 in 3 ways.....the other 2 can get the coins in C(5,1) = 1 person gets 4 in 3 ways......other 2 in C(4,1) 1 person gets 5 in 3 ways.......other 2 in C(3,1) 3*C(5,1) + 3*C(4,1) + 3*C(3,1) = 3(5) + 3(4) + 3(3) = 36
  9. i'm not sure about this.. if you rotate the square 45 degrees the distance is the arc of the circle....so you would use the radius of teh square and the given degree to calculate the appropriate arc length......
  10. when you set up the 2 rates you can compare the fractions R: (1/.5x)*3 = 6/x S: (1/.75x)*4 = 16/3x 6/x > 16/3x breaking it down into rates makes it easier to answer all types of questions they throw at you....

    BigCBTcd--edusoftech

Just wanted to report a really bad experience with this company. I bought their gre cd's and after leting them know they didn't work and had some weird bug that blacked out the entire question, i get no response After a week, I finally had to request paypal to refund my purchase. Sucks b/c i really wanted exposure to that difficulty level before my real gre..... Anyway else have a similar experience with edusoftech? I thought they had a decent reputation....
  12. the highest value is 33 and lowest value is 23.....inclusive its 11
  13. condition repeats every 99n + 19 n = 1 mod 9 n = 8 mod 11 lcm (9,11) = 99 just do a couple of numbers for both equations by 9 1, 10, 19, 28 by 11 8, 19 means the numbers is divisible by 99 with 19 remainder where 99 is the LCM and 19 is the first overlap in both conditions..... n = 99q +19
  14. just use numbers for # 2... R = 120 S = 100 T is tricky. but you know its less than 80 greater than 75......since 30% of 75 is 22.5 and 30% of 80 is 24 in either case you know the difference b/t 120 and that number is slightly over 40 40/80 is 50% decreasing the denom and increasing the numerator makes it slightly over 50% ....... takes longer to explain than actually think out....
  15. if you know vedic math adding fractions is easy... cross mutiply and add both products as numerator and multiply denom's to get denon 1/5 + 3/23 = (23+15)/115 saves so much time.....
