  1. The answer should be 19 that is option c. Median is the middle number, thus the median in this case is C. 16 X 5 = 80. E is 40 thus a+b+c+d= 40. In order for C to have the largest possible value we make C less than d but very close to d, Thus the answer is 19.
  2. Hello, I am based in Houston TX and I am looking for a study partner to take GMAT. I just started the preparation and am planning to take GMAT in October. Please send me a message if interested. Thanks.

rexepic: in the question it is mentioned thet "the order of the colors does not matter" so in the answer provided by you, CA and AC will not be counted distinct.
  4. Hi, I am interested , but I am not in NJ. If possible online study is possible for me
  5. I too agree that the answer is 75%
  6. I have been preparing for GMAT for a couple of months and feel that an online study group may be helpful for exams like GMAT. If interested please send me a message or reply to this post.
  7. I think that the answer should be A, because the statement 1 alone is sufficient. For statement 2: case1 if x=2 then the answer is not an integer. Case 2: if x=2^6 the answer will be an integer . So we cannot say for statement 2.
  8. I agree with answer as 50. You can use Venn diagram to determine the same.
  9. The anfle bisector divides the opposite side in the ratio of the sides. Thus AX : XC = 5:4. Thus AX = (5/9) * 7 = 3.8
  10. I agree with answer as B. The height of the rhombus will be 1/square root 2

Answer is 5. If it is correct I can provide an explanation.
  12. From statement 1 its clear that x is not one of the highest - contributing countries. Since 67.8 > 56 so the number of highest - contributing countries are less than 6. So first statement is not sufficient. Statement 2 does not give enough information because 4.8 Combining both also we cannot say that x is the 6th highest contributing countries
  13. I think answer should be "B". Since the average is x. So the sum of the last three should be more than 2.5x and cannot be more than 5x because the sum will be 5x.
  14. I agree with above explanation.
  15. Use: [h=1]Compound Interest Formula[/h]http://qrc.depaul.edu/StudyGuide/Compound%20Interest_files/image002.gif P = principal amount (the initial amount you borrow or deposit) r = annual rate of interest (as a decimal) t = number of years the amount is deposited or borrowed for. A = amount of money accumulated after n years, including interest. n = number of times the interest is compounded per year
  16. (sqrt(b+2))^2 -2 because you have to square the whole term on the left side . (a+b)^2= a^2 + b^2 + 2ab
  17. The question shows that this is an arithmetic progression with d= -10 Tn = a + (n-1) d T3= a + (2)d 0= a + 2* (-10) a=20 T25 = 20 = 24 * (-10) = -220
  18. Answer: d. Explanation: Since one container can contain at the maximum of 9 glasses, Shift 1 : 51 glasses in 258 seconds. Approximately 6 containers in 258 seconds. Shift 2 : 73 glasses in 433 seconds. Approximately 9 containers in 433 seconds. Shift 3 : 112 glasses in 744 seconds. Approximately 13 containers in 744 seconds. Total containers = 28 Total time = 1435 Average time per container = 1435/28 Approximately = 51 Seconds.
  19. Let the total percentage of credit card users be c% Since 40% of credit card users do not use cheque book, so the equation will be .4c/100 = (c/100) - (.3) Solving we get c = 50
  20. I think the probability should be 1/2 because "BG" and "GB" are not counted as different. This looks like a combination question more than a permutation question and hence BG and GB should be considered as same.
  21. Answer = 50. Please let me know if that is correct and I can provide the explanation.
  22. The answer is A. Please let me know if it is correct then I can provide the explanation.
  23. First cannot be an integer because (x^10 + 1/(x^10)) = (x^20 + 1)/x^10 . This can be an integer only for x=1 but given that x is an integer greater than 1, so this can never be an integer. In the second case (x^1/6 + x^1/2), consider x as 64. (64^1/6 + 64^1/2) = (2 + 8) = 10, which is an integer.
