  1. Hey guys! Been busy with college, so, couldnt reply earlier. Anyway, for all of you who are asking about verbal, read anything you can find. Even the newspaper helps, amazingly! Read with a dictionary with you at all times. There are so many words we think we know the meanings of, but, are wrong. I hope I can help, but, I think most of you who have asked are done with your GRE already. Sorry, pals. Good luck to everybody Take care :)
  2. Hamidspam, Psyoutlaw and craig, thanks a lot!!! About the words, keep reading. That way you remember the context that you came across the words in. That is easier to remember. About GRE math, to speak the truth, I did not have too much time, so, I took a few math tests, and I was doing decently. So, I didnt study math AT ALL. I spent all the time I had on verbal. All the time. And, towards the end, the last week, I took one math test everyday. The percentile is Q-94 V-98 Take care, all of you and good luck. Erin, where do people post messages about their applications and whether they hear from universities, etc.? Here??? :)
  3. It depends on what department you want to apply in. Check out the websites, and apply soon, if you want to apply for fall 2003. The deadlines for many are over, but, there are plenty of univs with deadlines as late as march... Good luck Keep us posted :)
  4. Hey! I took my test on 6th dec and didnt get my score report till the 15th of jan. But, the good news is that the scores were ready. So, when I called ETS, they had my scores and the univs had my scores within 4 days. So, shouldnt be a problem. Good luck. Keep us posted
  5. Hey krishna. Take as many tests as you can. Keep learning new words. Read anything you can lay your hands on. The newspaper is a good choice actually. You will be surprised at the number of words you find there. :) Good luck

    need information

The score which is good depends on the university you are planning to apply in. The words from barrons are not always enough. Keep taking tests, you will come across new words. You work experience, (I dont know much about this) might help if you can get good recos from your employer. :)
  7. Hey everybody!!! Thanks a lot again. Got TOEFL tomorrow. Took my first test today. It isnt over-confidence, just lack of time. :p Exams going on for the past 10 days. Internals, labs and all that. Any suggestions or comments for universities.
  8. Thanks everybody for the wishes. Checking out universities. any suggestions? Electrical and electronics
  9. Hey guys!!! Got the complete score. Q 800 V 720 AWA 5.5 Iam pretty satisfied with the essay scores. So, how is everybody else doing? All you guys done with the applications, there??? I just got everything done in a hurry. :) All done now.
  10. I need help with this one, please! Anybody with an essay on this topic. I dont seem to understand this topic as well as any other one. :(
  11. Thanks, amigoro!!! Now, that I read it again, it does seem a little too harsh. Thanks a lot for the review! There is a particular issue topic which I cant understand. 85. "Government funding of the arts threatens the integrity of the arts." Any points for this? First of all, what exactly does it imply? I will try and post this as another topic as well...
  12. You just said it yourself, dude! It might just be the beginning. Dont let your scores disappoint you. Go on with the TOEFL, and the scores are not as bad as you think they are. Explore all the possibilities!!! :)

  14. guess all of this is perfectly right! There are no short cuts. Try using the words you learn in sentences. That helps a lot. And, keep going through the words you learn. Dont stop looking for new words. You will never be fully prepared for the verbal. There will always be new words...
  15. That was an amazing score, if there could be one!!! I hope these scores somehow inspire me... GRE in 4 days!!! AAAAHHHHH!!!
