  1. Thanks for the information. I also start thinking about NAPLEX and from my search, i found that people are using 1. APHA review. 2. prontopass 3. KAPLAN Book 4. Passnaplexnow course. I am still reading about the exam and have not buy any materials yet. I also start contacting local independent pharmacists for the 1500 hours of internship needed. Hope to put together a plan soon. Thanks again
  2. Thanks ambervaletta: My question now is about NAPLEX. Have you start thinking about NAPLEX? Do you need to have the intern hours finished before NAPLEX? Or the FPGEE is enough? How many attempts FPGEE people can have to pass.
  3. I have not started yet. But, I will take the NAPLEX and I wonder about the books that you need to use. Currently I have the CPR (7th edition, Do not think that it is was useful for FPGEE and do think it is good for NAPLEX) and a Pharmacology review Book. What books do you have ? I am thinking of buying one or two books to start. I read that the APHA and pronto books are good. Pronto is expensive (above $400 for the combo, http://www.prontopass.com/specials.cfm). I am not sure if I should buy the APHA or KAPLAN reviews? What books do you own to study?
  4. (1) Try Solution 1: Rescore Your Test You can have the Writing and Speaking sections of your test rescored — up to three months after you take the test. The test can be rescored only once. If you want both sections rescored, they must be done at the same time. If the rescore results in a change in your score (lower or higher), a revised score report will be provided to you and any previously designated score recipients. The revised scores will become your official scores. Each section costs US$60. Both sections together cost US$120. See TOEFL iBT Fees for payment policies. To request rescoring, complete the TOEFL iBT Rescoring Request Form (PDF). Scores are reported online about three weeks after your request for a rescore is received. Your score report will then be provided to you and your designated institutions. TOEFL: Internet-based Test: Cancel, Reinstate, Rescore (2) Solution 2: Relax and repeat the exam. You can do it! Yes you can:)
  5. I am still waiting on the certificate. I live in a big city and called/e-mailed local chain pharmacies/hospitals: A) for the chain pharmacies, i got this resposnse: Dear XXXX, Thank you for your interest in YYYYY. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a position with YYYYY in zzzzzz-15 at this time. As we continue to expand and grow, we will reference your application for future openings. Sincerely, B) from hospitals, they sent me application as a volunteer. One hospital said they have waiting list for volunteers!!! I have full time job and I am trying to figure out the situation. The worst case scenario will be to get my intern hours as a volunteer. I have not contacted pharmacies outside my city yet. I do not know exactly the situation of internships at the national level yet. But, as you know things are not as easy for FPGEE pharmacists as they were in the 90's and early 2000's. Hope you and all FPGEE applicants the best of luck. I will let you know how it goes. I like to be optimistic rather than complainer
  6. LOL Word of the day: Pharmacists know English better than average TOEFL Takers. Pharmacists are supposed to pass TOEFL speaking easily compared to average TOEFL takers. Sorry Konk. wish you luck. Taking a decade to pass TOEFL speaking is not Heroic or normal. It is extreme. I am sorry to say that you are a bad example for a pharmacist who wants to take FPGEE and TOEFL. BAM poka poo LOOOL One last thing: I respect your persistence!!!!
  7. Congratulations Do you have only 4 attempts to pass NAPLEX?
  8. ahmedsis1 I agree with Pharmaddict. Do not make the FPGEE the center of your universe. Keep your option open. keep your current job and life together with your study on FPGEE. When you pass the FPGEE, then you make the next move.
  9. for my comment about this thread, please go to http://www.www.urch.com/forums/toefl-speaking/133788-re-bam-i-received-score-26-speaking-section.html
  10. I did the following: 1. Watched the youtube videos a couple of times and made a template for each question. Used that template in my practice when I answered the questions. 2. Bought the official TOEFL prep book that has two practice exams. 3. Bought one online practice exam. Total time for study: couple of hours a day for 2 weeks in the evening. Please notice that I lived in the USA for several years and I do not have heavy accent. Tino has some good suggestions as well. Good luck
  11. I lived in the USA for several years, so I did prepare for TOEFL for only 2 weeks. I bought the (1) official TOEFL prep guide, (2) bought one practice exam online and (3) used some internet videos. If you speak good English without heavy accent, you are in a good shape. You have to speak coherently and clearly. Do not say ahh ahh mm, mm , mmm , uhhh every sentence you speak. Good luck
  12. Must see Speaking activities on Youtube: 1. YouTube - ‫ 2. YouTube - ‫ 3. YouTube - ‫ Enjoy
  13. Warning: You have to be 18 and with no heart problems to open the KnoK thread below: http://www.www.urch.com/forums/toefl-speaking/117837-bam-i-received-score-26-speaking-section.html Comment: Taking 26 in the speaking section is not that hard as the BAM knok person is telling everybody. He is talking about a special case " Himself" If you know how to speak fluently and coherently without a heavy accent, then you will get the 26 in the first or second time as it happened to me and many others by just watching Youtube movies about TOEFL speaking for a couple of times ( it needs as low as 10 hours of study if you know how to speak English). http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=TOEFL+speaking+&aq=f I do not think his story makes any sense. You do not need 5 years to get 26 if you are normal???!!! I am writing this to keep the hope up for those who want to take TOEFL and are afraid of some horror stories like the knok tragedy thread. Sorry BAM knok, Your post has 20,051 viewers which is surprisingly high. I hope most of the viewer are normal and not desperate as you. It looks that people like to read about "a total failure story like yours" rather than a success story like that of "those who passed TOEFL easily".
  14. I passed April 2011 FPGEE exam and TOEFL iBT in May 2011. I am waiting for the FPGEE certificate and I live permanently in the USA. Please share your thoughts about the next move if you are in a similar boat.
  15. I am not Egyptian but here is some tips: 1. Money: plan that you need a lot for fees, visa, tickets, stay, TOEFL...etc. It is good that you atart saving. 2. Read: read about the Egyptians who passed the exam already. Ask them if they can find intern positions easily. See if going this direction worth your money. 3. English: You need high scores in TOEFL and speaking sometimes is a problem ( 26 in speaking). 4. Time: you may need a lot of time to go through all the steps to be a pharmacist in the USA. 5. Visa: the best is H1B. However, you need a pharmacy to sponsor your visa or training. 6. Shortcuts: Try to find a relative attractive wife who has a citizenship at the USA. This will make you life easier:) 7. Last advice: speak to as many people as you can before you get started. Study your options. Things are not the same in the USA as it was 5 years ago. 8. Good luck.
  16. got the results one day after the expected day.
