  1. Requirement of GRE score vary from department to department. As for example, in UBC, application forwarded to the Economics department must be accomplied with a GRE score, whereas for Biomedical engineering, GRE score is not required. So only through browsing the specific school website you can get the exact information. But in general, as per my knowledge, all the well ranked universities in Canada ask for GRE score. Even if you apply to a school where GRE score is not a mandatory, a candidate who applies with a GRE score will be definitely given priority. Almost all the universities ranked in the top 100 (even outside USA and Canada) asks for GRE score. So, to be on the safeside, get your score first and then apply to your desired school. It will fortify your chance for sure.
  2. The major in my Bsc was Electronics & Communication n I'm planning to do my Master's with major in Biomedical engineering. Can anybody give me a ranking of Biomedical school in the world or at least in USA? I also wanna know which country has better prospect of Biomedical research? I've heard that Australia is far advanced in Biomedical research in comparison to any other countries......Is it true??
  3. Thanx neel, in that case I will take the test in July.....yap, GRE score is valid for 5 years, but do you know whether or not a relatively old GRE score has lesser acceptance?
  4. Dear Cjherren, I felt the quiz on S(1-60) is full of wrong questions n answers. I found your verbal quiz really helpful and I m taking it on regular basis. So it would be so nice of you if you kindly post a corrected version of S (1-60). Thanx. Happy study everyone!!
  5. I started working on GRE only about a week ago and dont think can have a moderate preparation before March 2011. I know about only a few universities where research degree applications (Engineering school) are accepted throughout the whole year, whereas most of the US universities accept applications till December or January for the session starting on September. So now I'm feeling like taking the test in March '11 will be of no use for applying in the September session if I wanna get considered for full funding. Can anyone please tell me if I am thinking right way? In that case what will be the best time for me to take the test so that the score can be used for applying in the January 2012 session? Is January- February session is restricted for the international students or less funding is provided in this session?
  6. GPA 4.0 in MBA is really brilliant. Teaching experience is also do good to you if you pursue a research degree. I will suggest you to apply in the University of British Columbia, Canada. It is a well ranked university consistently holding a position between 30-40 since last few years. As far as I know there are lots of students from Iran currently admitted there. According to my belief your profile is competent enough to get admitted in any top notch university of USA or Canada. All the best.
  7. My Bachelors degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering and I'm going to take GRE test shortly. I got my IELTS score last month (overall band score: 8 with a 9 in the reading module). I need to know if my IELTS score can be a substitute of a TOEFL score for admission into a US university. Or I still have to take TOEFL test after GRE?
  8. I've started with GRE preparation a few hours ago. Last month I took the IELTS test and my overall band score is 8 and I believe that my vocabulary is quite rich. All I need to know, is Barrons word list enough for the verbal preparation? If not, then please give me the name of 2/3 books that must be read for cutting a fairly smart score.
  9. Dear, I took 2 of the quizzes already and it seems that they might be helpful for my preparation. Will you please tell me how can I make the best use of these quizzes? Should I make any note of my erroneous answers or anything like this??
