  1. Charlesr, I really thank you for your response. However, I would like to tell you that not getting a job is my basis of graduate school application. I am just describing the exact situation that I am facing. Even if I am applying for grad schools, since I am an international student and am graduating in two weeks, I still need some type of job to maintain my legal status in the U.S. before attending my grad programs(if I get into any) in the following Fall semester. Anyways, thanks for all the help. I think I am better off going to a master's program. I really love to teach(hence my job at current uni as instructor and tutor) so I want to have a qualification to do research and teach for my long term career. :D
  2. Dear all, I am graduating in two weeks. I have no job lined up(had a lot of interested employers but end up not getting the interview because they learned of my non-resident alien status). My life is a mess. I am an international student graduating this december double majoring in finance and international business, and minoring in economics. Have a 3.96 and graduating top of class. a lot of on campus work experience(lab tutor, supplemental instructor, internship at a credit union, student office assistant, ..... ) Since I am a international student, I need a job that can sponsor me h1b. No one is willing. I don't know if it is because my school is in the middle of no where and it is quite a no-namer for business majors. I have a lot of people emailing me to apply for jobs including vanguard but when I did and tell them(actually they asked me) my need of h1b then I get shut down, like completely. So I am trying to find a job that can sponsor me h1b. Please tell me if you know how to go about that. Which free website has a lot of good h1b sponsored jobs? Or do just need to suck it up and go to grad school for a masters then come back job hunting? My grad school applications are not going so well either. I mean I have a bad history with my previous school and also my GRE and GMats are not high enough. I need help with some direction and assistance. Please help me out. Going nuts. Why do I have to graduate this semester? :(:rolleyes::grad:
  3. I am being asked whether i was academically dismissed or have probationary action against me. Here's the situation. I was really depressed when I went to Wabash, for social and personal reasons. I was seeing the shrink regularly. They have my files. Did not get the kinda help I needed so I transferred. I did not withdraw officially from Wabash being driving off to California. Got a letter saying I have been dismissed for troubling academic reasons but then again they said I could appeal. I did in writing. I never hear back from Wabash. I went to Kutztown Uni started over and now have 3.96 with only one B three Ws and all else A. Over the course of 2.5 years I tried contacting Wabash how it went down for my appeal decision. Talked to different people including Dean of Student but never given a decision. Official transcript says nothing about academic probation or getting suspended. Since I do not know the status of my appeal, is it fair to answer that I was not suspended or on probation, given i'm answering the question with the best of my knowledge? How should I approach this? Does it mean that because of a bad start of my college career, my life is all ruined and I can never set my foot or dream of getting into a top program? how bad is this situation? Am I lying if I say "no" to that answer or I am fine cause to my best knowledge i really don't know what happened in my last college? Please answer for me if you know. I really appreciate it
  4. Dear all, I'm new to here. But I have a really bad situation here. I'm graduating from college without a job and a school lined up in two weeks. My GMAT is 640 Quan: 47 Ver: 30 AWA: 6 My First GRE is Quan: 760 Verb: 550 My Second GRE is Quan: 780 Verb: 580 GPA first two year of college at Wabash(a top liberal arts program) 2.57(had a bad semester with 3 fs)(econ major) GPA at Kutztown(regional tier1) 3.96(1b, 3withdraws, all else A)(finance and international business double major, an economics minor) Math courses: cal I(passed the entrance given credit), Cal II (A-), Econometrics(B), Linear Algebra(B-) Experience: Supplemental instructor for financial management course Honor Society: FMA and Phi Kappa Phi International student from burma(does it count more for me since not many students from my country apply for phd studies?) Above average recommendations from 2 professor, 1 excellent recommendation Worked during college to finance 100% Internship + on campus work experience 0 academic research except projects in classes. LOVEE economics but heard pay is better for finance professors.... Please comment me on my chances of getting into a top program. If you dont think it's possible any suggestion to improve my application strength?
