Hi... I have an accept from UCSD and Georgia Tech for MS CS. I want to do a concentration is AI or CV. Could you tell me what will be the better college for that? I want to work in the game industry further or study for a Phd in a better college like Berkeley.. Also, help on housing would be greatly welcome!! Regards....

Hello, this is how my profile looks like: GRE 1490 [800Q 690V 5.5 AWA] TOEFL 115 Acads 65.14% Mumbai University Computer Engineering 2 years 1 month work ex in a THE WOMO as a software designer/technical writer (Simultaneously with College) 1 month internship in CMC (Work project was on making an Image Processor in Java) 12 websites made in a period of 2 years or so(mumbaivotes.com eit20.com zodiakfest.99k.org ecomantra.com mcaglc.org etc..) I worked in a citywide Social Service Organization AADHAR, volunteering and organizing drives for rehabilitation, medical awareness etc. for a few years and they were good enough to give me a letter of appreciation Was on College Editorial Board with quite a dozen articles published in the college magazine College Fest Technical and Sponsorship team Research Papers on Retinal Scanning and Segmentation techniques on Radiology Images (Work still in progress....will put em up for publication by September...sort of when I apply) Experience with Game Mods in for games like UT2004 and Temple of Elemental Evil College Projects.....on 1. I need to narrow down about ten. Any colleges you might suggest would be most appreciated.

Hey, I gave my GRE yesterday. I got a 1490 (690V 800Q). Is there any chance of me getting into UC Berkeley with these scores? I have a GPA of 6.5/10 from Mumbai University and some national level quizzing certificates and I designed a number of websites for a number of college festivals. Also, financial aid or scholarships is not necessarily a major problem. Hoping that I get over 100-odd in Toefl, do you think I should be able to apply successfully to UCSD,UC Berkeley or Stanford for a Computer Science Masters?

Hello, Firstly, Thanks for such an excellent and helpful forum. I scored 1490 (690V 800Q) in my GRE today (Still awaiting AWA). My GPA as of now is 6.5/10 and I have a few national level quiz certificates and have developed websites for a number of College Fests for which I have the necessary certificates. I still have a year and a half left of my Engineering from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College in Mumbai University. Considering the situation that I am in, can anyone tell me just what might be my chances of scoring a seat for an M.S. in Computer Science in the following Universities?? UC San Diego Carnegie Mellon University Cornell Harvard MIT Stanford UC Berkeley UCLA Georgia Tech Washington U Penn and of course University of Michigan.. I do not believe a lack of financial aid/ scholarships though preferable would cause any problem.... Can anyone help me out here? I still have to give my TOEFL..

Ok...here is my situation. I began studying over half a year back. Everything was going great, until yesterday. I have finished the Big Book, Barrons, Nova, Princeton Review and the ETS book. I scored around 680-800 V And 750-800 Q in all of them. My past few scores were, Barrons CAT: 770V 800Q, Princeton Review 1-3: 720-760 V and 800 Q, Manhattan: 740V, 800Q and Petersons 720V 800Q. Ok, i must admit.. I sometimes cheat on a question or so. Thing is, I gave the Powerprep yesterday and I only scored 640V and 800Q. I got frazzled naturally and gave the Cambridge one later. I scored 610-650V and 800 Q (I must say, I got the first question wrong because I had seen it earlier and got confused). I gave the same powerprep again and Scored 750V 800Q. But today, I gave the Kaplan's tests and I scored, to my absolute horror: 620V 790Q and 550V 800Q. I gave the final princeton test and scored 750v 800q. Ok, right now I am completely nonplused. I have no clue if I am on the right track, or whether all the prep I have done till now has been completely futile. Can someone here, in his infinite wisdom, shed some light on what direction am I going in? PS...My GRE is in 3 days on the 24th of March. So yes, please help a poor brother in need!

Hello there, I know i shouldn't try and portend the future, but unless if some unfortunate accident befalls me, that is almost exactly the kind of academic history I'm going to have by the time I finish my Engineering. Well, my tests are almost over n now i have 10 days left once again! On my last test I scored 750 750....it was a Barron's test! Well, can anyone tell me where can I practice the essays from??? And just where I might stand right now with my scores?

Thanks for all your help. Well, yeah I did kind of guess that the paper tests aren't a good gauge of judging your final score. My last few tests have been.. Barrons...800Q 770V (But i think I've overgiven this test) Princeton Review 800Q 720V Crack GRE 500Q 430V Cambridge (690V 800Q) Well, some big book tests I think are kinda tough while some are too easy. Is luck a big factor on your final day?

I'm from Mumbai... I'm almost done with about half of the Big Book.. I'm postponing my test to the 24th because my college has set its mid-terms the exact same day as my GRE... Thing is, is the real GRE based on completely new questions or are they repeated from other sources???

Ok, I've been preparing for my GRE for a quite a while...almost 6 months. I know the words pretty well, in face...I'm gettin 1450-1500 in the Kaplan Tests and 1570 in the Barrons Test...Powerprep is still left! Problem is, I've been studying the Big Book like crazy for the past few days and now I feel almost completely saturated.. Also, my parents are gonna kill me if I don't get a 1500+.... So, I am very very scared right now about what I should do. I gave some test on the net called CRACK GRE...and I only (shockingly) got a 930 in that, which I have never ever obtained on any test (admitted, I didn't give it seriously and the software was really flawed)... So right now I'm wondering if I should re-schedule my test....or should I just go kill myself??!
