Dear killercut, 1) You are absolutely right that we should use "were" with plural forms, but there is one "but". We also use "were" when we want to say "He acts as he were mad (although he isn't a mad person". Compare to "I would not do that if I were you (I'm not you)". 3) Not sure in that one. "We deem that bullfighters are craven people" seems to me correct, though. 4) e.g. = exempli gratia (Latin) = for example Hope, it helps.

Dear alimax23, This essay can pretend to be a six-point TOEFL essay, but you should keep in mind that you won't be able to use any spell-checker, and you will be given only 30 minutes. Don't use MS Word when you practice essays. Instead, type your compositions using Notepad.

As an oldbie of TOEFL :), I advise you to check your nearest library for some helpful books such as ACRO (grammar), Barron's (listening).

unfortunately, I have 2 Gbs of TOEFL practice material :), and it would be impossible to send all my stuff to you. Moreover, most of the material is in pdf format. My advice is to get some good books!
