  1. 1 areas... attract 2 'of all' is the only one that logically fits in the context 3 farm family 4 nitrogen Theoretically, it could be right construction [The nitrogen] in some cases, but you can eliminate the rest of answers.
  2. Absolutely YES. You can navigate in any direction of the passage. I advise you to download POWERPREP sofware from the ETS official site in oreder to eliminate such questions from you head :).
  3. Strongly agree! You have to read and memorize words as well as write. They (most americans) don't use sophisticated words in every-day conversations.
  4. I took the test recently, and the quality of audio was bad althoug my headphones were perfect, I'd say.
  5. Probably, you don't have to read special TOEFL books anymore. The test mesures your skills of American English. Therefore, you'd better start learning the language, not the test.
  6. Dear killercut, 1) You are absolutely right that we should use "were" with plural forms, but there is one "but". We also use "were" when we want to say "He acts as he were mad (although he isn't a mad person". Compare to "I would not do that if I were you (I'm not you)". 3) Not sure in that one. "We deem that bullfighters are craven people" seems to me correct, though. 4) e.g. = exempli gratia (Latin) = for example Hope, it helps.
  7. completelyclueless, I bet you meant "sheep". One sheep, two sheep.
  8. Hello, Ricihe! >1) Is this a same number of questions with real TOEFL? They said in the bulletin that the number of questions can vary, but I got as many questions as it was in POWERPEP. >2) I got a score 06-25 from Structure section, how many I missed? (Total q:20) The section isn't computer-adaptive, and we assume that every right answer costs about the same. I'd say you did 5-7 wrong. >3) Is POWERPREP harder than the actual toefl(I heard before)? Not really. Anyhow, think optimistically :).
  9. It's so sad to be a foreign student when you have to take SAT II: writing. I think you will receive a good score for that essay.
  10. read the TOEFL bulletin carefully to get the datails of the returning policy.
  11. Dear alimax23, This essay can pretend to be a six-point TOEFL essay, but you should keep in mind that you won't be able to use any spell-checker, and you will be given only 30 minutes. Don't use MS Word when you practice essays. Instead, type your compositions using Notepad.
  12. papakehteyhain Why does my essay scare you? It's my own essay, and, as far as I know, you don't copy it :). Let's hope you will get the score you need. Thanks for your congratulations.
  13. Yesterday I received my final score. Essay: 3.5 Total: 260 The first step was taken :).
  14. Calm down, fish8me! There is nothing to be afraid of, you can trust me :). The day before the Day I advice you to complete one of the POWERPREP tests. It will refresh your test strategies and you will know what to expect. Good luck!
