  1. it was smth like: Children should start their formal education as early as possible. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
  2. yeah.... i also hope:) need to work very-very hard to get ~700.
  3. umar, the number of agencies is just an indicator of some changes in demand ot supply of labor. the number of agencies in itself cannot affect the supply of labor. agencies do not generate work places, IMO.
  4. hey, elearner, cheer up! you may have already heard it thousand of times, but still - the probabilty of getting a good result depends on luck as well as on practice which however doesnt mean you shouldnt practice anymore:) but still, to be on the safe side and be sure you did all you could - keep practicing and practice will pay you back!!! Frankly, the results PP gives on tests tend to be the closest to those you get on the actual test, so you must keep practicing. and listen, listen, listen. I practiced listening every day before the exam (about month or a bit longer). When are you planning the exam? And how long have you been practicing so far? May be your frastration is a bit exaggerated if you still have time?
  5. i showed the problem to a friend of mine. this is his answer: The correct answer is B since it's undermines validity of the study and therefore discards its results. If results of study are wrong then any conlusions that author of study made are wrong too. Proving that whole study was wrong is the most effective way to prove that also any conclusions derrived from this study are wrong.
  6. It's B: Which of the following, if true, would cast most doubt upon the author's interpretation of the study results given above? what are the study results? - Both these workers and the 50 who remained in the drab workroom increased their productivity. what is the author's interpretation? - probably as a result of the interest taken by researchers in the work of both groups during the study. how we can weaken it? - by finding some OTHER factor that could influence the productivity. by weaken the author's assumption that productivity increased due to the interest taken in the work of both groups. A negates only the conclusion, but has nothing to do with the assumption. the most feasible choice we have here is B since it tells us that there was a reason that could increase productivity (moving the workers to another room since there were more than 65 workers initially) C if true would make condition worse (anyway, should I be carefull here - it is MY assumption:)) D tells pretty nothing about the assumption. E refers to color changes which is nothing to do with the assumption either
  7. thanks, ursula, i will come up with some tests and then will share my experience. i've already got PP and Kaplan, but PP is not enough and Kaplan is out of question :)
  8. Hey!!! Could someone please tell me more about Arco tests? I am not sure whether I should get them. Thans a lot.

    Kaplan Diagnostics

Hey guys, ufff, I am really sad to find this forum that late. but anyway better late than never. what I want to say is that I studied with kaplan and I am NOT satisfied. I took the test in Nov 2003 and got 540. I think this is to some extend due to stuff bart said. besides, I am a non-english speaker, so for me it was really bad and discourging experience. I got PP CD almost immediately after completing the GMAT due to some overseas delay/whatever, so I even didnt try it at all. I am planning another GMAT attempt in Sept 2004, so now I am beginning the preparation. what was my suprise when I tried PP CD and I got ALL CR questions right. ALL of them, and I didnt guess! they are just different from those kaplan offered for practice. the very test was different....
  10. i am using 2000, but have the problem....:( and do not have OG:(
  11. Hey guys, I have the opportunity to get several CD with GMAT questions. They are thomson-Arco, Baron's, Nova, Peterson, PowerPrep. What would you advise? Should I get them all? And I've already got Powerprep CD (this is the only I am fully concerned with:)), so do they vary somehow in edition and stuff? Will appreciate any opinion thanks:)
  12. hey:) i am here with the same question. up to now I am ready to set on 2002 ed.

    OG 2002 edition

hey everybody, what would you say about [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] edition 2002? is there any critical differences in editions? I studied TOEFL with really OLD edition, but still consider it was a good book and I scored 263. I dont have GMAT [tooltip=Official Guide]OG[/tooltip] and now have this 2002 ed. option. please, advise me. thanx a lot
  14. hey David, i am a ukrainian (ex-ussr country). the question that really bothers me is how should I compare my work experience in ukraine to that in USA/other countries with developed market economies? I mean though I have 4+ years of relevant work experience, good TOEFL, GPA (GMAT is in the queue, but let's say I will do it well;)) it is obviosly not of the kind applicants from the States/other developed countries have. should I write a bit more detailed essay then to explain those differences?.. For example an accountant here is more like managerial accountant, and the chief accountant is sometimes the same as financial manager and much more. Ukraine doesnt have accounting certification, for example. How an admission commettee would consider my application then? How would they compare it to other applications since some issues are just uncomparable? thank you very much in advance
