    heyy,... I was admitted to a PhD program in Economics. I would like to read something before starting the school, because I feel a little bit unprepared. Could somebody recommend me some books about Applied mathematics (I think Schaum's is good ), Micro or Econometrics? What would you suggest me to read or do before going to study in USA?

    I was admitted to Clemson University with a teaching assitant position. I got full tuition remission and 15 K stipend per year. How much money should I have in my bank account? Do I have to cover the living expenses? This is a part of the email I received : " University tuition, fees and health insurance costs are subject to change without notice. You should not plan to obtain a graduate student assistantship or other financial aid after your arrival if you have not already been offered such assistance. If you are offered an assistantship, a portion of your tuition will be waived by the university. In lieu of tuition, the Graduate Assistant will be required to certify the current amount for fees ($2,040.00 per year), living expenses ($12,239.00 per year) and books & supplies ($940.00 per year). "

    Sorry for the long delay in replying to your message. It is difficult to say which schools you should apply to without knowing your full profile and research interests. However, if you want to get in somewhere in the top 20, you should try retaking the GRE for the score closer of 780 or better (aim for 800). A score of 750 is probably okay for schools ranked below 30th or so, but a lot depends on the other aspects of your profile.

    I have a problem when I instal this program... they ask me to install Shockwaves player 10. I did it, but the program still does not work they tell me the same thing: to install that player :(( Does anybody had this problem? What can i do?

    my class rank is 10%, while my rank in my field is 25% (i am on the 33 place out of 134)

    @ tobeornottobe I calculate my GPA (with the website mentioned by you), but the problem is that they do not give me A+ or B+ All my grades were A or B (i have grades between 7-10 on a scale of 1 to 10). They should not give me an A+for a 10? Anyway it is 3.48 a low average?

    Hi,

    I saw that you are attending at Ohio State University. I would like to know more information about your profile before entering there.

    I got just 750 Q and i do not know to which universities i should apply.

    I am an international student and I consider that the most important thing in my profile are the two interships which i made in a Bank.

    Could you recommend some Universities where i have chances for TA position?

    @ nimitz do you want to apply for PHD? I have a GRE score V 590 Q750, AW 4 I graduated economics (international affairs) and i want to enter in a public policy program.... Which are my chances?
