  1. Thanks for your inputs GRE2010... You were spot on about that.. I just got this neat table from a friend. Check out pages 18-20 of this PDF to calculate your score according to the old format.. My quant split up was 158 and verbal was 156.. I got a total of 1290-1300. http://www.ets.org/s/gre/pdf/gre_guide.pdf
  2. Hi guys. When I took my GRE, I got a score range of 1270-1470 at the test center. Now my finalized score is 314 out of 340. Any idea how to compare this with the old scale?
  3. [h=2][/h] Hey guys, Anyone from Tilburg or other European universities who can tell me how good the behavioral economics programs there are? Thanks :)

  5. Hi Ram, You will get your finalized scores only in October, and only after this you can send the scores to univs. The finalized score will be a single number, not a range. So there won't be any 'upper' limit. I think that score is a long shot for getting into the Ivy League, but if you have a really good background otherwise and you have strong letters of recommendation and SOPs, I guess there's no harm in trying :-) All the best!
  6. Hey guys, Done with the new GRE. Got an average/just above average score of 1270-1470 (Q 690-790, V 580-680) Some things I thought of sharing - The new GRE is more a test of the male bladder than anything else :-P It's excruciatingly long, so make sure you do some full length practice papers before attacking the actual GRE. Also make sure you take an extra section while doing the practice test - One extra section will appear as a 'research' section but you don't know which one! The quants was pretty simple, just make sure you look into all question types specified. Do some data interpretation/ chart problems to get the hang of it. (In my 2nd quants section they were a real time guzzler. I couldn't take the last 2 questions on the test because of them) In verbal the RCs got kind of pissing off after a while. So if your mind is really not able to focus on reading them, keep them for the end. I had about 15 solid minutes left for all the RCs after I finished the rest of the questions. I took Practice tests from Powerprep2, GRE official guide and Princeton Review 1014 practice questions - The last book is particularly useful because it has practice questions topic-wise so helps you cover all the topics)
  7. Hey guys, (Note - Already went through the list of schools suggested by posters on this forum, thanks for that guys :-D) I earned my engineering degree in Information Technology after which I am working with a prestigious software firm for the past two years in the banking domain. I would like to pursue my masters/PhD in behavioral economics. 1. Being a graduate in the field of engineering, can I apply for this course straight away without pursuing a masters? (Though most colleges don't stress on this) 2. Can the letters of recommendation be submitted by my employers? 3. Please suggest some good universities based on my profile specified above. And please provide LINKS to the program that you are suggesting. (Link of the college site) Thanks so much in advance. :-D

  10. Hey guys, Would be glad if I could get some inputs on good Grad courses/Grad schools for behavioral economics, with links. Can I pursue this course after 4 years of engineering and 2 years of work experience? Thanks in advance!
  11. Hi guys, I would like to do a PhD in behavioral economics. I found this useful list http://www.www.urch.com/forums/phd-economics/116354-behavioral-psychological-economics-rankings-2.html But can someone please give me more clarity by providing me with the LINKS to the EXACT courses? Also, I am an Information Technology Engineering graduate with 2 years of work ex. Can I directly apply for a PhD? Would really appreciate some inputs from students in this field, people who are currently pursuing these courses or people who have passed out. Thanks so much guys!
