  1. hey i have a lot of sat material from the old sat..not sure if its the collegeboard..but i do have the 10 real sats..which i never used! and a whole lot of stuff..but the problem is i"m currently out of my country and won"t be back until august..maybe i"ll get someone at home to check if they"re the ones u want.. let me know exactly what u need ciao
  2. I've heard of it.. at Edinburgh, a uni in Germany and Italy..same one? Quite an interesting course..If u do get in there will u choose that or a US admit? Is Ed really hard to get in?
  3. Just got my AWA..it's a 5.5 ! Woohoo!! :)
  4. Could ayone advise me if I should retake the GRE?
  5. hey Vipul..sorry for the error...is Columbia worth the hype? guess i should retake...thanks..
  6. After getting a lot 800 Quant's on practice tests I got a 770Q, 660V :( I messed it up bad. Got AWA followed by Q-V-Research. Would finish Quant in Powerprep 20 minutes early and here I didn't finish the last question :( Knew I'd messed up the Quant so Verbal got messed as well though the Verbal score at the end wasn't so disheartening.. I've realised my mistakes..should I give the GRE again in a few months? My dream school is Columbia...although I remember that a fellow TM'ian, Vipul got into Columbia with a 1410 and 770 Quant...I really don't want to put my application at stake. Although it's the best score anyone in my college has got as yet...it's quite discouraging. Should I retake? I'll be applying for MS CS.
  7. hey was jsut going to suggest the same...people have several posts for each admit so its getting difficult to follow them with their profile... possible criterion coudle be: all unis applied to, admits, rejects, aids, profile, research, recos, projects, and anything else that matters. Thanks a lot Erin for everything..TM rules! :)
  8. Hey Guys thanks a lot! I know i need to get some research experience but the problem is that the opportunities to do research are close to null in India.. :( One question is..I have no experience in AI...haven't learnt it as yet...but i'm sure i want to do that later on..will i be able to get a research intern in that field itself and do justice to it..or shud i just take whatever i get and know? hey gforce I'll be applying for Fall 2006...
  9. Hi! I'm interested in a uni with a well known reputation..i don't mind paying a heavy price for say CMU/Columbia/Cornell/UCLA..but eventually it should be worth it at the end ...quality of education wise as well as standing. For instance unless ure from an IIT in India ure not recognised well enough even if u have the credentials. Top tier would be good. But since I'm trying to concentrate on the GRE prep can't do an indepth research. And main aim is getting a PhD..so one at doctoral level would be preferred although I doubt I'll be applying for a PhD directly. Thanks.
  10. Hi, I've got my GRE next month and a whole bunch of CD's passed on by friends. There isn't much time to practice all of them so I was wondering which ones are must-do's, which can be skipped and whats the order to be followed for doing them. The list of CD's are: Powerprep BIG CD IMFS Max GRE Kaplan Princeton Review Also, I've got half the Big Book..tests 13-27 and may get the earlier half..should I also get the ETS 10th Edition? Thanks :)
  11. Hi, I've got my GRE next month and need to find probable universities to select for my score reports. My Credentials: Acads: about 60%(not too good :( ) GRE: expecting a good score(1450+) Research: nil so far but may do an internship this summer Field: CS with interest in AI Current Degree: Information Technology Engineering Uni: Mumbai Uni, India Final year Project: Quality of work much higher than normally seen. Extra-Curriculars: Lots- taught in workshops, IEEE committee post and work related to post. Applying for: MS in CS or PhD in CS Don't mind a super expensive uni like Columbia. Do come up with a couple of unis. Thanks.
  12. I will be when I start writing my essays which will be in a few weeks time :)
  13. i'm planning for sometime between march-sept 2005
