  1. Thank you for your comment, resource! Yes, I meant Oregon state applied. I hope NCSU will give me a generous funding package. But I heard from my friend that NCSU funding is very limited. Anyway, I guess I wait a bit more. Thanks !!!!
  2. Hello. I have been following many posts and threads at Econ forum for a while now. I thought it might be good idea to directly ask what you guys all think about my admitted schools. I'm still waiting on 5 more schools (Iowa state, Michigan state, Maryland, UCB, and UVictoria), but I have been admitted into NCSU ARE, Oregon Applied, Penn State AgEcon, USC econ, and U Calgary econ. Out of these five, I am funded from USC, UCalgary, and Penn state. NCSU and Oregon will let me know prob later this week or next week. Of course if I do get into Maryland or UCB with funding, I will def go there for sure. But I highly doubt that it will happen. So I'm guessing I will have to choose among those five schools and maybe Iowa, Michigan, and UVic. My field of interest is environmental and resources econ, specifically on climate changes, air pollutions, energy, and health. Considering the quality of program and professors and job placement, which schools do you guys all choose to go if you were me? I would like to hear what other ARE prospective students think about the school decisions. Of course, money is the big important factor for deciding where to go since I cannot afford to pay out of my pocket. So if there will be big differences in quality of funding packages, it gets easier for me to decide. But luckily if they all decide to fund me, which schools do you guys all think will be good for me? any advices will be appreciated!!! Thank you guys!!!

  7. Thank you everyone for replying!!!!!! One of my friend who is from Canada told me that U of Victoria is also good school for envir econ. I know that in UBC there are at least two faculty whose research interest is envir econ like Copeland and Clive. I've been following specifically Copeland's research since he works with air pollution with Taylor in U of Calgary. But I thought having only one faculty in econ program whom I wanna work with might be problem. So I started to explore other schools in canada. Is anyone familiar with the strength of envir econ in U of Victoria? Thank you
  8. Hi. I am new to this forum. I apologize in advance if this has been asked before already. I am planning on applying to economics PhD in US/Canada where has strong specialization in environmental economics. I have narrowed down where to apply in US, but I cannot seem to decide where to apply in Canada. I have talked some faculty and friends in my school. I'm considering U of British Columbia, U of Calgary, and U of Alberta. But I would like to hear what other people suggest. I would appreciate any advices. Please help me. Thank you so much.
