  1. Hi guys, let me make myself clearer.I thought I have already made myself clear enough to convey my problem but it seems I haven't.So,I will be writing slowly to make myself clearer.I want to apply for phd in some business schools with a concentration in finance. My exam scores I have mentioned above,as you can see is not that good. And I know that being accepted to a phd program is very competitive and a hard job.If you consider my exam scores(btw I haven't studied or prepared for these exams,it was a quick decision),I know they are not high enough to enter top business schools. However,I think I may have a chance for mid-tier business schools and to increase my chance I may retake those exams and apply with new scores. At this point I want your help.Which business schools seems to be suitable for me if my profile is considered.I may retake exams and may apply with new scores to increase my chance but that is not certain as well.Anyway,my profile is much or less the same as I have tried to mention. In my previous post,to not to take to much time of people reading about my post,I tried to concise and clear, but it seems it was not clear.I hope this time,I will be successful. In conclusion, can you suggest me some business schools that I have a chance of being accepted.Thank you in advance..
  2. Hi guys, If I am to apply a business school phd program with scholarship which universities in States would you suggest considering that I am not a very very succesful and genious.I have a gmat score of 650 toefl 100 and gpa 3.6/4. Which schools do you think I can have a chance of being accepted. If you can suggest some I would be delighted.Thank u all.
  3. Thank you all for giving me those valuable ideas. But ,still I have a few questions in mind as well.My scores are not that much high like gmat 650 and toefl 100 and cgpa 3.6/4 .And I studied business administration in undergrad level and I havent any math foundation like mathematical analysis, econometrics,or advanced calculusI have just becoming familiar with them in my Msc finance this year.M question is with this backgroung what are my chances of being accepted to a phd program in finance-accounting in some universities maybe not the top but in moderate schools.I learned in forums that States accept undergrats directly to phd but UK is considersing only those students for phd who have a master degree. Is it valid for every school in UK or else.Cause this is my first year in my master and it lasts 2 years and if am accepted to a university phd program,I will definetely leave the program I currently study. And finaly, what suggestions for universities you can make in which rank range so on.Thank you all in advance...Have a nice day..
  4. Hi everbody, I am currently doing msc in finance and I want to continue for phd in finance-accounting.My question is about my uncertainity on deciding a phd program.I wonder about the differences in those above mentioned phd programs in States and in UK.As far as I heard, phd in states takes much longer than it is in UK.If the quality of education and future prospects are similar it sounds more beneficial to have a phd in UK.And also,in states there is phd in finance but in UK it is phd in finance-accounting.So it seems there is difference in this respect as well. Can anybody who has knowledge about the differences, pros and cons, similarities between those phd programs in states and UK.If somebody can share his/her experince I would be really happy.Because choosing the countries is the first thing I should decide before specific application to a university. Thank you in advance..
