  1. tarun, Since we do not know the production cost and the selling price, we cannot say that E is true. we just know that pepper is in short supply and the price of pepper has been soared. THAT IS IT. let's say the production cost went from 2- 10 dollars and the selling price went from 9-11 dollars. That actually contradicts E. E is just an assumption, not an inference.
  2. The strategy that I would follow is 1. finish SC questions as fast possible; within 35 -50 seconds if possible. 2. Use the extra time gained in SC to use in RC 3. Finish CR in 2-3 minutes depending on the difficulty level. You see the trick is, you need to read fast and still read very very very attentively. How come that is possible? well for some people it is possible, for the most it is not. You need to define the purpose then. SC : is all about pattern recognition. If you are fast to recognize pattern, 99% of the job is done. Purpose is : recognize pattern as soon as possible. CR: all about reading attentively. Purpose: Do not rush, do not scramble. take your time. These are not the questions to show off how fast you can read. RC: Now you can show off your WPM. reading with maximum speed with comprehension. this requires practice which develops with practice. and the funny thing is it is very much doable. If you could read 350 words per minute with great comprehension, RC is dudu.
  3. Bull Sh*t: Maximum allowable production levels of pollution for industrial concerns are usually determined in legislation that is based in large part on the recommendations of scientists at the Environmental Protection Agency. Premise 1: Industrial concerns must pay a fine that is proportional to the level of pollution that exceeds the limit, and this proportion should be revised every year based on the number of firms that exceeded the limit the year before to maximize the penalties assessed to polluters. 1. Fine in $$$ proportional to amount of pollution 2. if more company exceeds limit than last year-> then revision. We do not know how many though. Premise 2: However, the revision process usually occurs less frequently than once a year because lobbyists for industrial concerns usually persuade the government to hold off so as to avoid having to pay increased fines for pollution. - this premise is actually there to trick you. If the statements above are true, which of the following describes a situation in which a revision should occur?-- no problem.. sit down :) (A) A dozen fewer firms were over the limit, but their total pollution over the limit increased over the last year. this brakes No.2 of Premise 1. -- gone -- (B) Two more firms exceeded the limit than the year before, but the net level of pollution over the limit decreased. ***good. this goes according to No.2 of Premise 1 where we have more farms exceeding the limit than last year. so a revision should occur. © No more firms went over the limit than the year before, but the amount of total pollution over the year before went up. --why the hell would we have a revision then?? -- out -- (D) No firms were over the limit, and total pollution decreased by about forty percent from the year before. same reason for C - out -- (E) Several fewer firms were over the limit than the year before, and the total pollution over the limit decreased accordingly according to No.2 in Premise 1 we need more farms to go over the limit that last year to have a revision. -- gone -- SO B IS THE ANSWER.
  4. I have been going through some of the posts in this respective topic and cannot help but post this thread to discuss some interesting findings. Admin, if this crosses the line, I beg the pardon. I am seeing a lot of threads such as " should I apply?" , " please evaluate me". " what are my chances??" , " should I go for an MBA or MS?", " what should I do?", " what are my chances?" As I was going through the threads, I constantly wondered ' is this an MBA admission forum?' 'am i sure?" if someone cannot decide what he should do, if someone does not have the slightest clue where he should apply and what is his purpose to do MBA or MS for that matter then how come he can be a good manager? I am actually out of words. Most people in this forum are very smart with good GMAT scores and good GPA still does not know his purpose. Alas!
  5. "do not poke the bear" unless you are asked to do so :)
  6. Business is all about image and USA/Europe has a better image than Canada in terms of MBA as Canada has a better image than Australian in the same respect.
  7. very inspiring thread. :) "Do not stop dreaming... no matter what"
  8. May I ask why your AWA score is not up to par? is it because you did not study for it or you followed a particular template that did not work?
  9. Although there is co-op for this particular MBA, managing a job offer by yourself is a bit over optimistic. Many universities use this co-op option as an advertisement scheme ( like UVic) to attract foreign students. And more foreign students means more differential fee and more differential fee means $$$$$$$$$$. I would rather not waste my time for an MBA like this one. You better do good in job, get some professional certification or go for an MBA in a better school.
  10. in addition to gsm_73's comments, I would like to add that it is better to ask as early as possible when they have enough fund. So if you have an early acceptance, do it right away. Otherwise, if you ask for it afterwards, though they want to give you money, if they do not have it, they will be helpless.
  11. McGill, unless I get assistance ship from Concordia, then it is a whole different ball game.
  12. interesting news. but I do not get it. The story could have been more interesting if the hacker had been able to make changes admission decision in the system.
  13. I am also interested about Notre Dame. Can anyone shed some light on it? I am also interested how much GMAT is required for assistance ship .
