  1. Hi everyone, just wanna let u guys know how I am doing with my internship. i started as a technician, because its the easiest way to get into a company. After I passed all my exams, my preceptor helped me to change my status to intern. Now I still have 3 months to go, with the recommendation from my pharmacy manager, the district manager has scheduled my interview for pharmacist position later when I'm close to finish my hours. so if u guys are still out there looking for an intern position, starting as a tech might be a good way too! One thing to make sure is that they will have a pharmacist who has preceptor license.
  2. I didn't do well I scored 89. I only used rxprep and the question bank. Technically I only used the question bank. I started to read the book long long time ago and then after I finished the book, I started to work for two months before I took my exam. By he time I was about to sit for the exam, I forgot everything from the book and I even sold it a month before my exam cause I knew I wouldn't have time to go though it again. so I bought the question bank and got my husband to print the answer for me. 5 days before the exam, I went through the answers and calculations. Those were hard core five days, I studied 12hours per day. I m good at maths. I couldn't do a lot in the exam but I m very confident that I got 90 % of my calculation right. I bet calculations got me passed on the exam. i do not suggest anyone else to use my method since its too risky. Just by imagining the effort to go through everything gain and the embarrassment from failing is unbearable. So work hard for the first attempt:)))))
  3. Of course it is not just the top 200. Be prepare well. Don't just study for the top 200.
  4. Hey guys, I checked my result today, I passed
  5. I used rxprep and question bank... But some of the pharmacists I worked with, they all went to review course.
  6. I felt soo bad after taking the naplex.. i had a lot of calculations I thought I did pretty well. They were all about drip rate, mEq, and some concentration. I was wondering if I didn't well on the calculation, why would I get some many? i was not asked about anything on HIV nor oncology.... Does it mean I fail?? i am soooooo nervous now!!
  7. As we all know, intern position for foreign grad is not too positive right now. recently after all the 'no's, I went to applied for technician certificate and just got an offer at Target today. The pharmacists are really nice. We chatted a lot today. he told me that I'm clever to start with tech position. He said its a great step stone. There is no point to keep sending emails begging others to offer u an intern position as they won't give a glance on your résumé. They have way too many applicants. I asked him if it is possible to have a transition from tech to intern later, he told me there's hope because companies love hiring someone inside instead of outsiders. I guess, rather than staying at home waiting, we'd better start with tech and hope for a transition. I learned that target is hiring tech all over the map just in case u guys are interested. the starting salary is 12/hr
  8. Hi Egy, Thank you for your kind reply. I didnt remember her name actually. I think the store manager liked me since she gave me compliment on every question i answered. but then, pharmacy manager is the one who picks his own team member right? what is your suggestion to reach the regional pharmacy manager? I am actually applying for a tech position. My strategy is to get into a company first and then see if there's an opportunity to switch to intern position. What else suggestions you think i should follow?? thank you for your time!!!!
  9. Hi amr33, Thank you for your prompt reply. I applied target online and i went through their website before i applied. They have a lot of openings for tech, but not for interns at this moment. I still dont know what to expect from the interview. Do you have any knowledge about target's recruitment? what do they normally do to hire? i read some posts online, some guys got the job offer right after the interview. I am not sure how often that happens.
  10. I just had an interview with target for a tech position. i had two people interviewing me one after one. the First lady is the store manager and she was nice. I think I did pretty well with her since she gave me compliment on every answers. the second man is the pharmacy manager, he is a bit intimidating. He just asked and I answered. He didn't talk too much. He asked about my license in England and tech certificate. I don't have tech cert at this moment. I passed my FPGEC. He said he still had a few to interview through out the week. He gave me an 'applicant screening' number to call to register with Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit Program. He said that he still do not know who to hire, HR will call me up within this week. If another more qualified person is chosen, then HR may have another store who needs tech. I didn't understand his last bit too well... what do you think my probability to get this job? i hope I can get in this position..... thank you for your time!
  11. I have a green card. I talked to one of the target pharmacist and she told me that intern season has passed for target. They usually do it from may till July.. i actually had an interview with target today. Both the store manager and pharmacy manager interviewed my on after one. I heard that they still have a few candidates. At the end, the pharmacy manager told me that he still have candidates to interview. And if a more qualified candidate is hired, then HR will see if other store has vacancies. He said hopefully at the end of this week, I'll receive a phone call from them. what does it mean?. Any hope in getting the job? how did you hear about their vacancies for intern? I tried Walmart, the district manager told me they do not have positions right now.
  12. Hi everyone How is internship hunting??? i live in texas and i have been asking around. CVS, targets and some of other big chains have already said no. I talked to one of the target pharmacists, she was really nice and she felt sorry that she couldn't help me at all. She asked if I have a technician certificate, if I do, then she will be able to hire me right there. What i am thinking right now is maybe get a technician job first and see if they can change my status to intern. So i want to ask if FPGEC holder is exempt from technician exams. And also, if anyone know how to apply for texas technician certificate. Thank you very much for your time!
  13. Hi Sharpie, I would like to ask you what if I find an internship outside that 6 months window, can i still apply for the intern license?? was it 6 months or 3 months? thank you for your time!
  14. Hi Dyad, I have a few questions to ask you. I have submitted application for Naplex on TBSP. They sent me an email of confirmation and a Fastpass for fingerprint. It is a form and i wonder if this is the one that TBSP should be mailing two weeks after my application? I have scheduled my fingerprint next week. On the form, there are sections need to be filled by the staff at the fingerprint center. So, does it mean i will just need to sent all the documents along with this fingerprint form to TBSP and wait for their authorization to take NAPLEX? Thank you very much for your time!!
