  1. thanks bull, wasleys and knok. bull, i applied using my GMAT score and ofcourse the whole essays and stuff. IIM B and C said that they have decided not to take my interview :) and said that they would give/not give an admit based on my background. I guess being from IIT helps a wee bit here ... so fingers crossed for B and C. meanwhile, IIMA, i have an interview scheduled in bangalore in the second week of march. lets see how it goes. in anycase, i have pretty much decided which univ i want to join :) bull, let me know if you need any help with the apping process.

  6. I have new found respect for the Australian cricket team. they have donated all of their prize money from yesterdays test match victory to the tsunami relief fund. http://foxsports.news.com.au/story/0,8659,11805322-23212,00.html meanwhile, India, pak and srilanka are planning on a charity match. I hope the big names in other sports follow it up.
  7. interesting discussions going on in business week forums and some other blogs. here's one http://forums.businessweek.com/bw-bschools/messages/?msg=60163.1 you might have to sign up to view the message. not sure.
  8. knok, the sri lankan embassy in D.C has put up message accepting donations. I guess that would be a good place to start since it would be reliable. let me know if you need more info. http://www.slembassyusa.org/
  9. interesting blog gmat168 :) btw, i found this blog while googling. thought it might be useful for people here .. http://errorlogs.blogspot.com/
  10. here's a list of other alternate options available for donations: http://www.vichaar.org/article134.html
  11. knok, I do not know this organization personally. but the source of this website comes from my IIT-alumni association group and hence I believe there is no fraud involved in it. I have gone through the website and found it to be a legtimate one and hence this thread. it is a permanent one and it has helped people in previous releif works. Just my opinion. you can know more about the group from their website. http://www.aidindia.org/CMS/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=19&Itemid=61 I believe the tsunami aid relief is being headed by an IIT-madras prof in India. The US address is to fecilitate donations in the U.S. and for srilanka and other parts of south asia you might want to visit worldvision.org.

  13. :D I too lay my case to rest :) so, when are the SNAP results coming out bull ?
  14. then what was this about this is not a special case of combination vs permutation that we were discussing about. its a completely different issue of who picks up first. be it permutation or combination you will still have that issue of who picks the ball first which wasn't what I was addressing.
  15. ok here you go .. yes it makes a difference if you assume they are picked one after the other. GmatGnat's method that I was referring to: please do check my previous postings. both the approaches are correct is what I have been saying all along without indulging into who exactly is picking first. that is a completely different issue and irrelevant to the point i wanted to make.
