well... i got 690 v and 800q ....n i'm happy though not quite elated.... my scores in powerprep were.. first time 1 month b4 exam .... 1450+ and 1500+ (i dont remember xactly..) second time 5 days b4 exam... pp1 1490(690v) pp2 1540(740v) neway...thnx for ur co-operation...esp to anmol,sweta n chanda...not to forget erin.. be in touch... if u hve ne queries r u need ne help / suggestions..u can post them to vinodkone@yahoo.com ...as i wouldnt be coming bak to this forum again....this would be my last post here...

this was written when i took the prowerprep test....n my last essay... "Our declining environment may bring the people of the world together as no politician, philosopher, or war ever could. Environmental problems are global in scope and respect no nation's boundaries. Therefore, people are faced with the choice of unity and cooperation on the one hand or disunity and a common tragedy on the other." -------------------------------------------------------------------------- In this techno-savvy era, technological advancements have their share of darker side in defiling our environment.Our "mother" environment is plundered by man in his quest for supremacy over every sphere of life.The need for protecting "our" environment is incumbent on every responsible citizen of this world,no matter what.I agree with the author's contention that saving our environment calls for unity among all the citizens of the world where we have to chose between cataclysm or prosperity.But, the role of philosophers, politicians, etc in striving for the protection of nature shouldnot be forgotten. Environmental problems are truly global because its adverse affects are experienced by all persons from every nook and corner of the world.For instance,"Global warming" is one of the imminent and dangerous situations that the world is facing today.Global warming was caused by the man's use of chlorofluro carbons extensively ,which were released into the atmosphere mainly by refrigerators ,air-conditioners and automobiles .Today all the nations have come forward to join hands together and solve this problem because its impact is felt by people of all walks of the life.If people donot co-operate with one another then they cannot control this calamity from destroying us. Similarly, the depletion of ozone layer can also be taken as an example here.The ozone layer has been depleted by the harmful substances released into the atomosphere by man .No nation can think that they are safe and so they neednot co-operate with other suffering nations because if today it was other nation then tomorrow they me the potential targets.This sense of responsibility for saving the world, has helped people to unite and strive for the betterment of protecting of nature. In the same way,the example of "Air pollution" can be cited here.Air pollution is one situation which has been on the rampage for many years now and every nation, more or less, is affected by it.All nations have come forward to put this situation under control.When people of all nations unite, there is a greater possibility of finding a solution to such global problems than when individually.The invention of fuels which produce smoke,when combusted, less harmful to the environment than the conventional fuels has been possible because of this collaboration only. But, we shouldnt forget the role of politicians ,philosophers etc who strived to enlighten us on these issues.These were the people who warned common people of the adverse effects of plundering the environment.They were the "eyes of common man", in the sense they let the common people understand these affects through their eyes. If it were not ,these environmentalists the realisation in the people would definitely have been delayed.Environmentalists have helped us realise the problems in time and thus averted major trajedies.This reminds us of the age old proverb "A stitch in time saves nine" . Therefore,the author's contention that declining environment has brought people together is invariably true .Since these environmental tragedies respect no boundaries, a sense of fear has made all the nations come forward and work in concord leaving behind their grudges.We should always remember that "United we fall , divided we lose" and hence should work unanimously in preventing and controlling these environmental problems.But, at the same time the unforgettalbe role played by philosophists and politicians as environmentalists shouldnt be forgotten.

"Conformity almost always leads to a deadening of individual creativity and energy." Man is a social animal full of curiosity and creativity. The above statement sounds very appealing and convincing at first because the creativity of an individual actually seems to be restrained under the pressure if it’s non-conformance with the standards of the society. this sentence has stopped abruptly...if it seems like something...then u hve to mention what do u think of it Let’s define creativity here “creativity is the ability or the power to produce through artistic or imaginative efforts”. The statement clearly states producing something new which certainly is not a requirement of conformity. We have number of artist, painters, musicians, scientist, engineers, philosophers, sociologists and politicians etc who are the trend setters of theworld we live in today. They are the ones who dreameddreamt...dreamed is an adjective of being different and producing something useful and different. The number of new inventions and discoveries are the examples of creativity that our ancestors possessed and defined the meaning of life for the future generation. When we look back, every decade in the past is standing with a substantial invention which has improvisedi think u r confused with improvised and improved here..improvised is something done at the spur of a moment without premeditation our life by leaps and bounds starting from the discovery of a wheel, steam engine, bulb, aero plane, computers etc. But when we are talking about creativity and energy we don’t need to talk about the discoveries or celebrities or renowned people. Every individual possess ideas and creativity and have the energy to bring it to life. Let’s take the example of any organization. Every organization has a particular system and managers, administrators maintaining that system. The first question that comes to my mind is that, the same system has been in place from the beginning, if it is then, is the organization still successful and making profit in the market?? Probably not. Some people choose to conform to the system and drag it fordelete for year after year. But those who choose non conformance and bring in new ideas to work are the back bone of the organization. If organization does not have such individuals; it would probably collapse in no time. However all of this is easier said then done. Not every organization or for the matter of fact, society is open enough to welcome the changes in spite of the reality that change is necessary for its growth. Further, the changes cannot be implemented by conforming to the system. Every common man does not have the power and energy to bring these changes or revolution and so his/her creativity dies unheard.this sentence doesnot flow with the previous sentence The need of the hour is to salute the creativity. Creativity bring schanges which is certainly restricted if we continue to conform to the existing culture and society and the price that we may have to pay would be higher than on©e can imagine. u r essay is gud...but the essay isnt bolstered well with ur reasons..the xamples lack the vigor.. u r xample about the organisation is gud ..but the ending is not well.. u never mentioned in the analysis..which part ur supporting..we only have to infer that its in affirmative...better state ur claim in the beginning and then proceed... __________________ U GET WHAT U DESERVE MISHA
