  1. Hi, I am studying for NAPLEX exam and I am using RxPrep as my main study guide. For those who passed NAPLEX, do you guys think I need to memorize ALL the brand names listed in the RxPrep? I'm planning to memorize brand names that are in BOLD, and I am just wondering if this is enough. Should I memorize ALL the brand names listed instead? Any comment is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  2. Hi, Smileysilvia, Thanks for your reply. My required internship is only 300hours. So I will finish my internship in 2-3months. I heard that although TN visa is good for 3 years, once the employment is terminated (either quitting or getting fired) my TN visa is no longer valid and I must leave USA immediately. So, I am thinking that once I finish my 3 months internship, I need to leave USA and enter again (with other visa like visitor B2 visa) to write NAPLEX exam (since test sites are only in USA). Isnt this true? I am thinking of writing the NAPLEX exam 2-3months after I complete my intenrship hours. Thanks!
  3. Hi, I am planning to get TN visa to do my pharmacy internship as I am a Canadian citizen. I am just wondering...what happens to my visa status AFTER I finish my internship. Although TN visa is good upto 3 years, I understand that once I stop working as an intern, my TN visa becomes invalid right away so I need to leave USA immediately and go back to Canada. I'm guessing it is same for H1B visa. My question is, after I finish my pharmacy internship, should I get the visitor visa (B2 visa) to write NAPLEX in the States later? Is it usual process for everybody? So, once you finish your internship, you go back to your country, study or NAPLEX/MPJE exam, and come back to USA with visitor visa (B2 visa) to write NAPLEX exam? Thanks!!

  6. Hi, is there anyone who has done pharmacy internship as a volunteer in Massachusetts (MA)? I am a Canadian citizen and I am in MA on a visitor visa (B2 visa) currently. I just got a pharmacy intern offer in MA but it is only a volunteering position. Is it alright to do volunteering internship in MA on visitor/tourist visa? I've seen some people said YES, and some said it is illegal. When you finish your internship hours in MA, you and your preceptor have to go to Notary public to prove my internship hours. I'm just wondering if there would be any issue if I had finished my internship while on B2 visitor visa. You know the public Notary might ask for SSN card, and I wouldn't have one since it is only volunteering position. Anyone done volunteering pharmacy intern in MA? Please advise!! Thanks!
  7. Hi I have a question about the policy on FPGEC file closure. I have a deficiency letter from NABP that I need to correct the deficiency postmaked no later than early April 2012. If I cannot fix it by April, what happens to my file? Does NABP close my file? On the FPGEC Application Bulletin, it says that the file will be closed "if you are not yet certified and fail to correspond in writing with the FPGEC office, or to file an updated application, for a period of two years". Does this mean....as long as I send a letter to NABP indicating that I am still interested in applying for FPGEC certificate program (within 2 year period), my file will be secure? Thanks!!!
  8. Hi I know that in some states (MI, MA, WA), Canadian pharmacists don't need to go through FPGEE exam as it is not required. My question is.....even though I don't write the FPGEE exam (ie. exemption), can i still get FPGEC certificate? I recently pased TOEFL ibt and my score will be mailed to NABP in the next few weeks. Does NABP issue the FPGEC certificate only with my TOEFL score? My second question is....how does NABP know that FPGEE is exempted for me? Any comment is appreciated

    ECE and EE number?

Hi, thanks for the reply. I actually called NABP last week to check whether they received my application or not and to ask if they are processing my file. They said they did receive my application forms and started reviewing as of 3rd of Jan 2012. I asked him whether I received EE number or not, and the person I talked to said yes. I also asked if NABP process my file faster if they receive my ECE general report faster. They said, it all depends. I just got an email notification from ECE that my general report has been mailed to NABP today. Hopefully NABP will receive it in the next couple of days. For general process, he said they are gonna evaluate my file to see if there is any deficiency in my application/documentation. If there is, NABP is gonna send me the deficiency letter so that i can fix them up. Also, if NABP has not heard from ECE about general report, they will send me a letter indicating that NABP is waiting for ECE report. He also said that if I receive a letter indicating this ("waiting for ECE report") he said I can just throw it away since it has been mailed already. I am just wondering....Have you NOT heard from NABP at all since Oct 2011? not even a letter indicating that you are given with EE number? That seems little odd. The initial evaluation usually takes 6weeks right? even if you had some deficiencies in your file, weren't you supposed to have some kind of acknowledgement letter from NABP? Let me know if you have any updates from NABP. Thanks alot!!
  11. Thank you so much for your reply! Do you know if I can volunteer (unpaid) with TN visa? I see that some sponsors consider accepting interns IF they can be UNPAID, but I heard that with B1 visa, you HAVE to be PAID. Do you know any regulations on this with TN visa? Do you know which form I fill out for appying SSN with TN visa? I really appreciate your help!!!
  12. Hi I mailed my ECE application and NABP FPGEC application form at the same time. I received an email notification from ECE that my documents/applications are sufficient, and they will send the general report to NABP soon. However, I did not request Rush Service by the time I sent my documents to ECE. Can I request it now? Another question is... although I have sent my application/documents to ECE and NABP at the same time, I have NOT heard anything from NABP. I used the express mail that I can track whether or not my application forms are delievered successfully, and they did. Is EE number assigned AFTER the NABP receives the general report from ECE? Does this mean...if the general report from ECE is delievered to NABP quickly, the EE number is assigned faster? I understand that my FPGEC file should be OPENED by the time they receive the general report from ECE, but I am not sure if my file has been opened or not without receiving any notification from NABP. Would it be worth to request Rush Service so that my ECE general report is sent quickly? Would NABP notify me with the EE number FIRST (at the receipt of my application), and then receive general report from ECE to evaluate whether I am qualified or not? Thanks!!!
  13. I registered my TOEFL exam already and I will be taking it in few weeks. I just read some threads that for Canadian pharmacy school graduates, they don't need to take TOEFL exam since canadians are taught in english.I thought ALL foreign graduates have to go through TOEFL exam to get FPGEC Is there any Canadians who did not write TOEFL exam but obtained FPGEC certificate? btw, I will be moving to MA. Thanks!!!
  14. Hi I am a Canadian pharmacy graduate, and I am looking for an internship. What kind of visa do I need? I do NOT have a Canadian license yet but I will be relocating to MA soon. I am willing to do my internship for free (unpaid) as it is so difficult to find internship placements nowadays. I heard that canadians can get TN visa...but my questions are: 1) can I do my internship unpaid with TN visa? (I heard that with B1 visa you have to be paid, but what about TN visa?) 2) I do not hold Canadian license. Am I eligible for TN visa? I've read few threads and some people said I need Canadian license and others say I just need bachelor degree of pharmacy. 3) Should I apply for H1B visa instead since I can get SSN number with H1B visa? Do we absolutely need SSN to write NAPLEX? 4) For TN visa, you can get it at the border, but what about H1B visa? Any suggesion is appreciated!!! Thanks.
  15. I thought you have to have FPGEC certificate to start your internship in MA. Don't you have to finish your FPGEE and TOEFL to obtain the FPGEC certificate? and THEN start your internship with that certificate? Can anyone verify?
