  1. Hi, is here still maybe any current phd econ student at UMelb ?
  2. I wouldnt LOL that... if the guy is doing an MA, TAing and working full time at the same time (I assume in private sector 40hrs+ per week), then yes ... amount of work effort could be similar although it may be a better feeling since you will be doing interesting work (conditional upon you having interest in the subject), working on yourself and not earning money for some big company. In any way it looks like you are very motivated and this is really the key to making it.
  3. Got accepted status at UC3M application website too.
  4. This is my profile above that got into UCSB. I did one of most rigorous masters in europe and this is my master gpa. My undergrad gpa was sth like 3.7 - dunno because we dont use your system. Sorry for lack of clarity. I also had 2 very famous professors as writers. Bests and good luck later on.
  5. Hi I got into M1 APE this year. Anyone of you guys who decided for PSE would like to share any insightful information? Isn't it a little 'crowded' (esp. M2 with 60+ students)? So therefore lecturers may not pay as much attention to students as in smaller programmes ? What is the interaction with faculty like? And finally - I have some impression that the school is a little leftist/socialist, correct me pls if I am wrong. :) Bests
  6. Hi guys Here's my situation: I got accepted into 1 year MSc programs in Tilburg, Barcelona GSE, Humboldt Uni, KULeuven (all no funding) and 2 year MSc at Institute for Advanced Studies Vienna (with full funding). I am still waiting for answers from several institutions (PSE, CEMFI, Bonn and Tinbergen), however I am pretty sure I will enroll into IAS Vienna. This institution has remarkable 1:1 faculty ratio and great PhD placements. On the other hand BGSE seems very attractive but the problem is its EUR 12k tuition fee and only 1 year programme (would require additional 1 year for research master to get into PhD). Any feedback maybe? Bests Karol
  7. Hi guys Im not so sure if I understood you correctly. I will graduate with BSc Economics in 2012 and hold an admission offer to BGSE MSc Economics. I will be after intermediate courses in macro/micro and some math-linear algebra, calculus etc. According to what vanRijn says, shoul I have big problems with completing this programme?
