  1. The pharmacy regulations in Maine for pharmacy students who have graduated from a foreign country and want to work here state that: "A pharmacy student internship consists of 1500 hours of pharmacy practice at one or more pharmacies under the direct supervision of working pharmacists. The pharmacy internship program provides foreign-educated pharmacy students with practical pre-professional experience in a supervised setting and prepares them for licensure as pharmacists. At least[/left]500 hours of the required 1,500 hour must be completed in the United States." Does this mean I can transfer my internship work from India to here using their affidavit form? has anyone done this before? Is this the reg in other states too?
  2. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions or thoughts around this? No experience from other states or other mainers?

  5. This is their email: Thank you for your reply. Please know that we do not currently have graduate intern positions available, so if you are a licensed pharmacist in the United States, kindly advise the location(s) where licensed. Thank you, Foreign National Recruiting Coordinator Walgreen Co.
  6. Hi Thanks for your responses. I tried all the major pharmacies, Walgreens, RiteAid,CVS, Walmart, Target, SuperValu - NOTHING!!!!!!!!! It is so frustrating. I don't need sponsorship. I just need to complete my hours. The responses are either - we have nothing available right now or that they don't hire foreign pharmacy grads..
  7. Hello April 2012 FPGEE Graduates, any luck with getting internships? I have received NOs from every single person I contacted..

    What's next

The apps I used were tspeaking and Pre_Toefl. Good free apps. I speak pretty fluent English and have written research papers here in the US so the speaking and writing part was quite easy for me.
  9. I don't even need the sponsorship. I have a green card. I am going to call Maine state board of pharmacy.
  10. Can you work as a pharmacy tech to complete the hours or do you need to work as a intern?
  11. Doesn't look too good. I got my FPGEC in tha mail yesterday. Rite Aid told me they don't hire foreign pharmacy graduates. I haven't heard ffrom anyone else. The hospitals hire only current pharmacy students :(

    What's next

Oh well.. Never mind the question. I got my FPGEC in the mail yesterday. Now if only getting a positive response to my internship queries was this easy...

    What's next

So we passed the FPGEE and TOEFL iBT. What's next? Did anyone get their printed score report from NABP? How long before we get the FPGEC?
  14. There is no alternative. NABP will not accept anything other than TOEFL iBT
  15. Hi OGIE24 I do have review materials. I have the Shargel book and the FPGEE Secrets (e-Book). In addition I downloaded a lot of materials off the internet (that I never got time to review). I made notes on the stuff I studied, Are you interested in buying anything?
  16. Tspeaking, TIPPS and Pre-TOEFL are the 3 apps that I have. They were all free.
  17. Hi! Sorry for the late response. I did not use any formal TOEFL prep book. I downloaded an app on my iPhone that had speaking and writing samples, read through those. I read a lot in general and think my vocabulary is good. I am not a native English speaker (I am from India), but read fiction novels, news and other stuff extensively. I really do believe the more general stuff helps a lot- like knowing the slang, different accents, different ways of saying something - things that you pick up from more general reading.
  18. Can't believe I passed too!! Score of 78. I had exactly 4 weeks from the time I got the ATT till eexam date and I studied for maybe 4 hrs a day and more on weekends!! I still can't believe it. I used FPGEE secrets and Shargel.. That's it. I also gave my TOEFL IBT a week after the Fpgee and got 30 in speaking and listening and 27 in reading and writing each!!

    So how was it?

I used FPGEE secrets. It was very easy to read. Plus I have a lot of general healthcare experience in the US. I work as a program manager for a hospital here.

    So how was it?

8 weeks I think. I liked the management questions :) that's my strongest area. I just hope I pass!!

    So how was it?

How was your FPGEE today? It was ok for me.. Just glad it's over!!
  22. Best of luck to everyone! Revise, revise and revise some more!! I bought the FPGEE secrets book and it is really good so I am planning on reading that the day before the exam to revise up on everything. Also calculations - I cannot remember the formulas.. Any suggestions?
  23. The other reason could also be that I had once applied for and failed the FPGEE back in 2004. Apparently NABP still had my file there because they gave me the same EE number. Maybe that's why I got the ATT so quickly since they already had once approved me to take the test.. who knows what NABP is thinking? I am just going to focus on thursday's exam.

    pre-fpgee

I agree with FPGEE_DESPERATE. I took the test last week. It was ok in the sense that you know what the questions will look like on screen. However at the end of the test 66 questions, you don't get ANY useful information other than your score. It doesn't tell you which areas you scored on, which were weak etc.. so it was really no help in preparing for the actual test. I got 75 in the Pre-FPGEE, which means that I have to buckle down and study hard to make it in the actual test. But what should I study hard- any clues from the Pre-FPGEE would have been helpful. Instead it was a waste of $50.
  25. I agree. However I checked again and nowhere on the NABP site do they state that the ATT will be sent only after receiving the evaluation from ECE. Everywhere they state that you should send the application to ECE and NABP both. If FPGEC has questions about your application, they will correspond with you directly and once all concerns are addressed, the ATT will be sent.. Maybe they need the ECE evaluation to send the actual FPGEE certification after passing the exam. I will try calling NABP tomorrow and see what happens..
