  1. Like what I said, if she's approved an H1B and she's currently in the US - she doesn't need to go back to her country to get it stamped. It's only necessary IF SHE WANTS to go back home for a visit, then she will need it stamped at the US Embassy. Going back home JUST TO GET IT STAMPED is not necessary. She can start working with just the Notice of Action approval paper. If still not satisfied with the answer, then go research for it.
  2. I suggest she seek the lawyer's advice and follow it. I dont think she really needs to go back in her country for the stamp. Its not necessary anyway. Why does she wants to go back home?
  3. Have your friend ask her sponsor to provide her the contract. She will need that and the INS' Notice of Action of her H1B approval. There should be no problem then if she goes home and get her H1B stamp. Only if she's on the 3rd stage of GC process or the change of status stage - she should not travel out of US.
  4. i heard from a colleague at work who's an intern said that the CPJE will no longer be administered by Prometric. it will be transfered to another testing agency. they said this should only cause delays in processing applications during the time of the transfer but will not affect the contents of the exam itself. likely the format of the exam program or system will change as well as availability of testing centers... this new company could also be less faster in processing schedules etc... Prometric is a huge testing company and has many locations. i dunno why CA has to change companies. Prometric is already doing a great job! Naplex was there, TOEFL was there, candidates are already comfortable with Prometric, why change now??
  5. foreign or local graduate - why should they allow one be excempted than the other?? the fact that the page that says Institutional Setting hours are required and even an affidavit of it is included - it NEVER said that FOREIGNERS need not fill that out! that information is preposterous!
  6. I am selling my Manan Shroff practice test CD for CPJE. Has 150 Q&A. Send me a PM if interested.
  7. no, i did not use that book. maybe it is helpful and will boost your scores
  8. The book is: "A Guide to California Community Pharmacy Law" by Fred Weissman I got this book from a good friend. Maybe if you could check some Pharmacy colleges (UCSF etc) you may find the book, if not online. Study as you do with Naplex, then add this book and updates from the CA Board's newsletter "The Script".
  9. i am sorry to tell you but you may have to wait for next year. companies usually start the hiring process during the fall season till winter. the process usually takes at least 3 months prior to April to give them enough time to work on your paperwork. if the month of Feb-March passed by without hearing from these companies, you likely dont have enough time to find a company to rush your papers for you to beat the April 1st window. good luck for next year
  10. California Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam
  11. I am selling my CPJE practice test CD from PharmacyExam. It has 150 Q&A. If interested, send me a PM.
  12. review as usual as you did for Naplex - theory, hospital ph SOPs, TPN procedures, patient consultations, community health, except for calculations. they wont give calculators. there is still 2-3 calculations though but they are very easy you can do it short hand. CPJE is much more tricky than Naplex. good luck!

  14. starts from $48/hr up to $54/hr as pharmacist.
  15. There's a very handy pocket-sized book that is very useful while studying: Tarascon Pocket Pharmacopoeia. The latest 2006 edition's cover is purple. Its up-to-date, brief but covers essentially what a pharmacist should know. Most pharmacists use them as reference while on the job. You could use them to help you with brand names as you encounter them when you study. So as you study, lets say you are reading APhA, since that book does not always mention all the brandnames as they discuss the generics, use the Tarascon to easily find the drugs and all the basic info you need, as well as what you need to note for counselling patients. It also comes in PDA-user format... Speaking of PDA, if you have one, look for Epocrates. They have free downloads that you basically need. There are other pocket references out there like the Prentice Hall's Drug Guide. But I prefer the Tarascon coz its really handy. You could take it along with you anywhere, at work in your lab coat or while in study, it fits in any small purse. Its just as small as a Reader's Digest. But you'll be surprised how remarkably useful it is. Good luck.
  16. Just for everyone to know, this Hemal (warfarin10, reebok) guy has been stalking my private inbox with such false accusations and un-gentlemanly comments and profanity for some time already. He keeps on insisting I am somebody else. I apologize for the public spat that's going on here. My advice when you read his messages: take a deep breath when you read them, coz he does not use punctuation marks to pause or stop. If you can't understand what he is trying to say, close your browser's window and revisit Testmagic some other time and avoid this thread. No use trying to get what he meant. Thanks.
  17. [To author of deleted posts:] I think this would be the 3rd time that I am telling you I AM NOT ASHUTOSH! Geesh, the letters of my name is not even one of them! Where in the world did you come up with that name? Again, the third time or could be the fourth time that I'm telling you (everyone, this guy really has a poor memory) 1. I am done with Naplex and CPJE 2. I am all licensed 3. I did not take TSE 6 times!! excuse me, please check your sources 4. I dont need to move to California because I NOW LIVE IN CALIFORNIA Concentrate? Concentrate on what? I am now concentrating on the menu of the restaurant we're about to check out tomorrow night - here in HAWAII!
  18. sore old Hemal, How many times do I have to tell you that I am done and finished with my exams?
  19. I've been getting requests for advice, my only one, to add to all other's advice is: Study BRAND NAMES. The top 200 list is not enough. Naplex does ask for them, and its included in most pt profiles.

    CPJE Anyone

hi ph0006, i am done and passed CPJE. i was just wondering what other books do candidates used other than Weissman's. so far that book helped me in addition to APHA and Kaplan. the CPJE is more on application of the Law and several questions on hospital protocols, what to do in certain situations on dispensing etc. you need not to memorize the article nos. other than 11159.2 exemption. good luck.
  23. haha! sorry warfarin10 (hemal) but that is totally NOT ME!
