  1. I am taking my toefl in 3 days, so please, give me some feedback about my writing perfomance! The widspread use of the Internet has given people access to the information on a level never experienced before. How does this increase of the availability influence life in today's world? Our life has changed greatly in the last 50 years due to the technological advancement. One of the most contributable but at the same time most debated technological achievement is the Internet. Nowadays we have an easy access to all information which the Internet holds, but how does it change our life? I think that we can find great changes in our social behavior, political development and time management. First of all, the Internet has changed our social behavior. Researchers state that about 80 per cent of the information in the Internet is created by people in social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace and so on. This information includes not only different news, but also photos from the vacations uploaded by your friends. Years ago people had to meet to discuss their friend's journey, but today we are just looking though our friend stream, posting comments and so on. So, today we have less real communication than 20 years ago because more and more people tend to communicate online rather than in reality. Secondly, the Internet has changed our politics. Today we have a lot of political activists who used to be bloggers, we organize rallies and riots through social networks and have so-called "Twitter revolutions" like those in Russia after December 2012 elections or in Egypt. So, the access to the information in Internet can not only help us doing our research assignments but also it can help people to change different global things. Finally, the Internet simplifies our life; enable us to make a better time management. For example, we do not have to spend hours in a library being a bookworm to complete our research or college assignment. Today, we use different sources in the Internet to make researches and find information, which is much easier than searching the same information in different books. In conclusion, it could be said that the question of the damage caused by the Internet stills being open. Nevertheless, I believe that the Internet is definitely one of the most advantageous and great invention made by the humanity. Internet gives us not only information, but freedom as well, because freedom today means being informed about everything happening in the world. 3. It is better for children to grow up in the countryside than in a big city. Agree\disagree Childhood is an important period of time for everybody. It is also important how it was spent. Some people state that childhood in the countryside is better than childhood in a big city; others prefer the other point of view. I believe that available good educational and medical facilities, socialization are more important for a child than good environment and the absence of noise pollution. So, I agree with those who think that urban area is better for a child. My first reason is educational facilities. There are a lot of good schools and kindergartens in cities, when there is lack of diversity and choice in the countryside. No doubt, that education is very important for a child, but it is not common knowledge the best time for learning is before 12. Scientists state that all the knowledge we get at this age will be with us forever. So, in a city we can find different schools with qualified teachers, when in the country there is at least one school and it is not always a good one. Secondly, it is more likely to socialize in a city than in a country. Socialization is an essential part of every child’s life. As well as there are more children in cities there are more chances to find friends there than in the countryside where a child is surrounded by animals, by the nature and so on. Finally, better medical facilities are accessible in a city. There is no need to say why medicine is extremely important for children. Doctors state that every disease evolves faster among children, so that is why having emergency medical service is extremely important for a child. For example, my brother has asthma. He needs qualified and urgent medical help during attacks. Once he had an attack when we were at the countryside and luckily my mother had all the necessary drugs and knew what to do. All in all, it was really risky and I could be safer if we were in the city. In conclusion, it should be said that both childhood in the countryside and childhood in a city have its own pros and cons, but, having considered all the relevant facts, I believe that childhood in a city will be better. My choice is education and safety.

  6. Hello) I'm also preparing for the toefl test, so I am not a professional) Nevertheless, I'll try to help you) While somebody might think studying through online courses is the wiser choice, I prefer to choose attending the traditional schools, for the personal instruction that teachers can provide, a better studying environment that traditional schools possess, and more social interactions it will bring about.(It is your thesis statement. To get a higher score you should have a general topic statement and a statement which narrows the topic) First of all, as abundant as the information you can obtain on the internet is, there is one thing that you are not able to gain online. That is the personal instruction from the teachers who address directly to students' specific academic problems. What we need to learn in a school is not only the knowledge itself, but also to understand how to use an organized and theorized method to analyze the information you get, thereby constructing a solid knowledge basis of your own. Namely, to acquire the ability of critical thinking. In absence of the teachings from an actual teacher, it is quite difficult to be self-taught about critical thinking via internet.(It's better to start with a clear opening statement. Something like "Firsl of all, in the traditional scools you can acquire personal instruction from blahblahblah" will be much better. Then, mind that you are supposed to give reasons for attending school not against distance learning, so the opening statement should be written in other way) Secondly, the traditional schools usually have a more suitable environment for education where students are apt to focus on the study tasks they have in the their hands. Personally speaking, I tend to get distracted, when studying alone at home, given an array of temptations online that are easily accessible to everyone, like chatting, video games, etc. But if I stay at school, my attention will be concentrated on my assignments and my study efficiency will also be higher.(it's okay) Last but not least, attending traditional schools is an excellent way to socialize yourself. In the course of studying at a traditional school, you are bound to meet a considerable number of new classmates, many of whom will eventually become your life-long good friends. If you choose to study on your own via internet, you can never have this kind of valuable human networks. Without the important skill to be bonding with others, your career prospect might be comprised. All things considered, I think, in consideration of the personal instructions, better studying environments and social experience resulted from studying at traditional schools, it is more desirable than studying at online schools. (It will be useful to use such expressions like "Although there are many good reasons for distant learning....for example....., I prefere...... because" , but your conclusion is quite good as well, I just suggest how you can improve it)))
  7. Do you agree or disagree with the following statement: “The best teacher is one who is very knowledgeable about the subject matter”. People say that the best teacher is one who is very knowledgeable about the subject matter. Although it sounds rather logical, I suppose that it is not completely true. Of course, being knowledgeable is one of the most important characteristics for a teacher, but there are some things which can spoil everything, so the best teacher should be not only knowledgeable about the subject matter, but also should be easily understandable, have a good character and so on. To begin with, let’s imagine a math teacher who knows math really well, maybe he or she is even a genius in this field of science, but the teacher cannot express her or his ideas in a clear and coherent manner. Can we consider this teacher to be the best one? No, we cannot. We cannot think so despite the fact that this teacher knows his or her subject really well. So, being easily understandable is one of the most important things for a teacher. Then, we should take into consideration the person’s character. Having a good character is important not only for friendship and other relationships but for being a teacher as well. For example, there are some rude and peevish teachers who become unbearable for their students and they can start hating the subject which is tutored by this person too. The teacher should be an easy person to make his subject interesting and adorable. As a conclusion, I would like to say that having a good teacher means a lot for a child. Children can start like the subject because of the teacher and you can stop like it because of the teacher as well. So, maybe someone will choose to be a biologist just because he or she had a really good biology teacher who made him or her interested in biology in childhood and being a grown up this child will invent a treatment of cancer, for example. I think that teachers are as important as the doctors are. The only difference is that doctors cure people and teacher treat our future educating our children.
  8. Evetything is possible and everything depends on your motivation :) My suggestions: Speaking - just try to practice every minute you have. Answer questions 1 and 2 every free minute, summerise what you have read or heard and so on. Writing - I'm not quite sure that it is possible to do smth. Your score is really high. Reading - read as much as possible and look up in the dictionary every unknown word. Listening - practice tests, ted.com, one minute american science and many other podcasts. Good luck!
