  1. Do Pharmaco-economists need to know anything about pharmacology, anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, etc to successfully do their job? :cower:
  2. That's a little depressing. I understand why tier 3 schools would take that route but not tier 2s. It just seems counter-productive to assume that every top applicant wants to work at a tier 1 school. I've heard of something similar happening during medical school admissions. I know plenty of accomplished 4.0 students who have been left out to dry while average 3.4 students get multiple interviews. I think the moral of this story is to be great but not too great. :D ..kidding :hmm: I guess it's also best not to get too serious with anyone until you know exactly where you're headed. If it turns out differently than expected, pleaseeee let us know. :)
  3. Lol... I'll keep you in mind for when I win the Nobel Peace Prize. :victorious:
  4. Yes, I could see why the marriage might become rather competitive. That would be a disaster. :hmm: I've never really considered what level of income I would want my spouse to have; mostly because I'm really self-sufficient. Spending someone elses money has always been an awkward thing for me. Plus, I see no benefit to being rich other than never having to work again, and that sounds like a drag...lol. I remember doing one of those surveys in college that asked "What would you buy if you won a MILLION DOLLARS?" And I remember the survey taking "forever", because I couldn't think of anything. That's when I realized that being wealthy is grossly overrated (for me at least :p ) I'm always puzzled by guys who even care about their spouse's income, but I suppose I can force myself to understand if I compare it to the social costs of marrying a wealthy guy. :upset: But yeah, money is kind of a downer for me. I guess I'm just weird that way. :shy:
  5. I did before I started this thread..lol. I thought it would be awesome to share my ideas with someone who actually understands the subject without having to dumb it down or worry about them stabbing me in the back, but now I fear that I may have idealized this situation as well. :p I'm still interested in finding someone on the academic path though. :infatuated:
  6. Only if she's dense enough to go along with it. :p Yeah, I don't think my ego could handle letting someone else take credit for my work. Although a family of economists could be quite interesting. :hmm:
  7. Interesting :hmm: Well, if she didn't really complain about it, then I guess there's not much for me to say.
  8. Awesome idea. I was browsing Youtube earlier in hopes of finding a vlog about the experience but I didn't have any luck. Thanks for taking the time to write about it. I have a few things I would like to know but I'll have to post them tomorrow. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.
  9. Lol... It's worth a try. But based on my own awkward experiences, I've found that the "artsy" types are often bored by "intellectuals." :( We just don't seem to get excited over the same things. :p
  10. Good point :hmm: Yes, I suppose that natural science could be more interesting to talk about, especially if you apply it to the future of medicine or something. I know that I would LOVE to have a conversation with a scientist who is familiar with the recent developments in male birth-control pills. :infatuated:
  11. Probably not as rational as a philosophy phd, but pretty close. I must admit that this was a motivating factor when deciding what type of person I would be willing to date. Isn't everyone? :shy: :D I can understand this. I guess it would be a drag to hang out with your clone all day. :hmm: And thanks!
  12. Really? How come? Seriously? What an ***!!! I originally thought it would be better to have a fellow economist as a spouse, but now I don't know. :dejected: Interesting. These responses are not what I expected. I guess I thought that most people would want someone who works within their field, so that they could have conversations about it without having to dumb anything down. Whew! That's good to know. :encouragement:
  13. Do you think you would be happier if your spouse was also an economist or something completely different? And why? :playful:
