  1. Hi Does anyone has an idea how important itis to show ties with home country if you are going US for a PhD? I am admitted to University of South Carolina Business PhD program. My parents died when I was a child and I do not have any property in my home country, Pakistan. My wife and daughter will definitely go with me as I cannot leave them for 4 years. Any idea about my Visa chances?
  2. Most PhD Programs value previous degrees in Stats/Engineering/Math etc as well as research experience. However, can anyone recommend some Universities that favor Industry experience? Also, are there PhD programs that are more interested to prepare PhD students for careers other than academia? Like Government jobs, Consulting, Industry etc.?
  3. I am not necessarily interested in Top Schools 2) As I am married with a daughter, I need a school which give reasonable stipend or where cost of living is low enough Any Help will be greatly appreciated
