I am aware there are quite some posts debating whether the BGSE is worth attending, etc., but I feel my case warrants a thread :)
I am a spanish citizen who has studied in the US (middle school) and who has studied university at university of Barcelona (not top 10 or anything). Not only that, but GPA isn't stellar. My first year was decent, and my 3rd and 4th years of my degree I found true passion in what I was studying (Degree in Economics).
During that time I started thinking of a PhD in economics and I have to say I'm truly attracted to that idea.
Unfortunately, I am also realist, and given my scores and my finances, I can not afford a PhD (I want to work in what I study).
During that time, I expressed my motivations to my tutor in Barcelona, and she referred to me the BGSE, and she expressed its qualities (top school, top faculty, etc etc). I then applied to the BGSE.
Today, I got an email containing my acceptance. Unfortunately, I was not able to get any financial aid from the institution, which leads me, finally, to my question:
Is the BGSE worth the 12K, given my student profile? I would LOVE to do a PhD in the near future, but I definitely need a good professional placement before that (to save up money, etc). Is the BGSE the way to go for that? If I don't find any grants or scholarships, is it worth going into debt for?
Any and all opinions are appreciated! :)
