Hi everyone, I got an F1 visa to do my PhD in the US last year and both my kids were given F2 visas, however my husbands F2 visa was delayed. So I went to the US with both my kids, stayed there for almost a month, while my husband's visa was still not issued. I couldnt manage alone so I withdrew from the program and deferred my admission to the next year and came back home. This year, the same University is not giving me funding so I got admitted to another one with funding. Meanwhile, my husband withdrew his F2 application and then reapplied fo a business visa which was issued to him. So now my question is whether my visa and my kids visas are still valid or do we need to re-apply and get new visas for this year?

The admissions committee at GSU still hasn't made any decisions. I have confirmed this from Andrew School. All the acceptances on GC are trolls.

Kentucky is around $12,700, (checked the website). UNC is 20k plus a year. You could check their websites, its clearly mentioned there for Kentucky. You could also check Gradcafe to find out how much ppl got paid last year.

Well, there is huge difference in the stipends apart from the rankings. Have you taken a look at the placements?

The problem is that if you give them the username and password then they can see all your scores, that is if you have taken the GRE more than once. Some ppl dont want to reveal all their scores.

Requesting all remaining adcoms(especially 50+ rankings), who still havent released results, to please put us out of our misery.

According to GC around eleven people have been admitted to Oregon. Have all these ppl received official decisions or just informal emails? Has anyone been waitlisted by Oregon?

What is it with these letter writers? I mean, if they have given you a recommendation once and if they are well-organized ppl, they should just cut, copy, paste the same recommendation over and over again. I am an assistant professor in my home country, and I have done that for my students who have asked for the recommendation via email requests over and again.

24th january is the deadline for fellowship nominations at OSU, so there is still some hope left.

UGA Economics department is still to make first round offers. Dr. Chatterjee was out of the country for the past two weeks at least, and when I called him on Monday he didnt pick up the phone. It is confirmed that they havent admitted anyone, atleast in the Econ department.

I called UGA department on Friday, the graduate coordinator was out of the country. The lady said he'd be back on the 15th and they will release decisions on the 15th. Amazing! I mean how unfair is this? What kind of a strategy is this? What are they going to achieve by avoiding all those ppl who have a decision to make by the 15th?
