  1. On that note, this is the most mind-numbing, boring work I could imagine. Do any you really enjoy accounting? I'm not sure how any intelligent person could find accounting to be an enjoyable career. No offense.. it just strikes me as odd.
  2. So, I'm about to be a junior at University of Miami. I'm an accounting major with a 3.98 GPA. The only reason I picked accounting is because I didn't know what else to do and I thought it'd be a gateway to a nice upper-middle-class living. The subject matter is mildly interesting, although I definitely would not study it for fun in my free time. Really, I mainly spend my free time playing video games, working out, etc. Furthermore, I shadowed an accountant this summer and the job itself seems extremely boring. I'm also concerned that I might get stepped on if I work in a Big 4 accounting firm since the environment seems to be cut-throaty. I'm a very shy, introverted person and quite a bit socially awkward to be honest. I really have no idea why I decided to go into the business school when I'd be much better off doing an engineering/science degree like all the other socially awkward kids, but I digress. Anyways, since I'm so far into my degree and have good grades, I figured I might as well pursue a PhD and teach accounting. Sure, I don't have a passion in it, but I don't really have a passion in anything else. I might as well earn six figures as an accounting professor instead of ~$50,000 as a staff accountant at a medium sized firm. I also figured a professor role would be a better fit for my introverted personality when compared to the corporate world. Thoughts? Also, will I be forced to do research for the rest of my life, or can I return to playing video games in my free time once I get tenure?
  3. And if it doesn't show up, should I simply assume that it wasn't approved? Or will I get a message stating that it was disapproved?
  4. I created a thread with controversial content and I'm waiting to know if moderators approved it. How can I find out?
  5. So, I'm about to be a junior at University of Miami. I'm an accounting major with a 3.98 GPA. It should be a 4.0, but I got an A- in English. There was some subjectivity going on in the grading process and I don't want to talk about it.
