  1. Thank you. I must do that! By the way, how often does PhD students in the U.S. change their programs? Is it common? Have you ever seen or heard about a PhD student who has reapplied and ended up in a more prestigious program?
  2. It is AACSB accredited. Professors have mostly got their PhDs from average universities and they have published in peer reviewed journals. My main concern is their placement record and brand.
  3. Hi everyone In the time that I was applying, I had a 4th-tier school in my portfolio and since I believe that I couldn't do well on my GMAT attempts, that school was the only one that I was admitted to. It was very hard for me to wait for another year, so I accepted the offer and now I have finished my first year. The school is located in an unincorporate area and weather is terribly humid (I kinda knew it before attending), more importantly, faculty are not helpful nor knowledgeable enough and to make matters worse, in the past 9 years, they could not place even "one" graduate in the academia. On the other hand, a month ago I managed to get a very high score on the GMAT and I believe that I may have a good chance of attending a top 50 school. But I have several problems and questions: 1. I don't know how the professors will react. If they're against my decision to quit their program, will they write positive LOR for me?! 2. I'm an international student and I don't know if there will be any legal problem (homeland security issue or anything like that). 3. Being a PhD student at the 4-tier and unknown school, will it count against me in my application process? Does it weaken my profile? I'm in a very complicated and depressing situation and I want you guy to give me a solution. Thanks a lot.
