  1. 'Cause I really have no idea about econometrics in Columbia.:blue:
  2. Hi there, I got offers from these places and I want to do microeconometrics in Ph.D studies. Do you have any suggestions? Penn State is expanding their econometrics group. So I think maybe the department is rising in this field. UCSD has been famous for metrics, but funding is not as high as the other schools. Columbia is famous for macro I guess and I didn't find much information about the placement of the recent job market candidates whose field were metrics. Also, I heard that faculty there pay little attention to their students. But it's an Ivy and it seems hard for me to say no to the name of the school. So, what do you think? All comments are welcome! Thank you!
  3. Thank you so much! Yeah, I think you are right. I need to think over what I need to put into it.
  4. Hi guys, I have a question about the length of SOP. Although most programs has a limit of 1000 words or 2 pages, UCSD's maximum is 2500. Then isn't it too short if my SOP is only 900-1000? But I cannot imagine a 2000 one with around 4 pages... What if the committee members did not know the maximum is 2500 and got bored when came across such a long one? Thank you so much
