Well, someone actually posted that he/she was invited to an interview at Wharton for finance PhD on Gradcafe. I haven't received any news from Wharton either.

Anyone else heard anything from Wharton Finance? There is only one post on GC. I also applied but haven't heard from them at all.. This makes me nervous

No activity for finance so far driving me nuts...

I hate to admit this, but I do think coming from an elite school is the most important. Great LORs and credible GPAs are all associated with your school. Coming from a unknown school is the single most concerning factor for me in this cycle.
